Hatice Cengiz says she waited for hours for her fiance, Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, outside of the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.

The Saudi journalist was killed in the Kingdom's embassy in Istanbul on 2 October.
He had gone to the consulate to obtain documents proving he was divorced from his ex-wife.
Turkish officials have said the journalist was tortured and killed on the consulate premises and that his body was then removed.
They say they have audio and video evidence to support this claim.
Saudi Arabia initially denied any knowledge of Mr Khashoggi's fate, but later said he had been murdered in a "rogue operation".

A pity Khashoggi was impulsive and not able to consider "what if" and think ahead. He should have gone in accompanied by a lawyer, I should have told a turkish official of his plans, should have involved another journalist and made the Saudi Embassy aware that they would be waiting outside Should have taken a mobile phone in on speaker phone to alert anybody outside immediately. Should have asked his girlfriend to call him every 5 minutes. Surprised he said nothing to her before going in. Denial can have fatal consequences.

It isn’t unheard of to wait hours and hours at the consulate. I’ve had appointments that take hours at my Mexican consulate and all I can do is wait as there isn’t any other one near by. The closest one would be about four hours drive.

Khashoggi was a former mujahid with bin Laden in the eighties and took from the mujahideen the description of women's love. He has a lot of girl friends like the one in Turkey, as well as wives, including Hanan al-Attar, who is not Saudi, also his main wife and mother of his children, who is Saudi and lives in Saudi Arabia.. The important thing is that all members of his family are brothers, uncles, aunts, sons, and his Saudi wife. They offered a pardon for the perpetrators of the murder of their father, but the Saudi government brought them to trial and they were sentenced. And at the thought of all his family members in Saudi Arabia, who are basically financially rich and have real estate in Europe and America and reside there most of their time. Finally, the Turkish president knew that this political paper for blackmailing Saudi Arabia had been penetrated, so he visited Saudi Arabia and ended his government’s relationship with this outrageous political blackmail.

Well, she said she is a young woman and I felt she had an interesting opinion of herself. Is she young ? I saw her as someone fitting OK with Jamal, actually seeing her as much older than she says she is, even though she did not quote her age . Jamal was just turning 60. It's funny you'd say that Lina Nicolia, because I had the exact same impression. There is something about her that I can't that I can't put my finger on. She is very stoic and she has a very unemotional demeanor. It's like she puts a wall between herself and everyone else. It's not clear and transparent. Looks like she's not telling everything.
