Lately, I learned a lesson that never call a 3B with AJ even though suited nor in the position of button. Because our range was behind so many hands like AK, AQ,AA,KK,QQ,JJ, include TT, we are only better than AT suited.

14:50 I'm pretty sure the 8's bet small on turn with the gained equity, like 10% pot at 50% frequency. If you land on bet it sure makes your river decision much easier at a substantially smaller cost while also picking up that folding equity. As played I do think river is 50/50 call/fold without factoring player profile.
@thefourthquarter7429 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, probably bet the turn small. He didn't think that was a bluff on the river, and have to go with the fold. I have to trust his player read here in the absence of more context.

Thanks for a great vlog. I try to always think through the hands as you review them for benefit of improvement. The AJhh hand 10:45 really bothers me. Maybe it is just a hand where you are hand cuffed but it feels so unsatisfying as a hand. I appreciate your point about not 4 betting as you have better 4 bet hand - AK, AQ off and A5 suited. Equally, folding feels super weak. But I am troubled that you hit your card of an Ace on flop and then are understandably at a range disadvantage to AK, AQ, and A4. 5 on turn hits A5. As your correctly note, there is much that beats you by river and you only beat busted flush draw and someone who went crazy with QQ. So my question is, in your studying / hand review, do you just caulk this one up and move on or do you consider if you missed something. Do you feel you were just destined to lose that hand or was there a possible move you missed? The hand just feels so unsatisfying. But maybe that is poker and your fold saves you money.

It's an exploit fold, he had AK. A lot of it is just knowing tendencies and that's hard to convey over a 20 minute vlog unfortunately

As you stated, perhaps the hardest part of poker is outwaiting a run of trash cards. Worst is marginal starting hands during that run. Weakest part of my game is waiting. And I'm almost 74 years old, and playing one form or another of poker for over 60 years. Trust me. Waiting doesn't get easier with time.

I'm not a pro :). In all honesty, I wasn't as "rusty" as I thought I'd be once I sat down. It's quite normal to be "rusty" when learning new concepts that you haven't fully mastered yet though. Some lines I take aren't "automatic" yet in certain configurations, especially in really rare spots
