Jameela the gorilla bonds with new family in Cleveland

All's well that ends well! The baby gorilla born via emergency c-section at the Fort Worth Zoo earlier this year is bonding with her new surrogate family in Cleveland.

I have watched many of the Jameela videos and I’m always surprised how her adopted toddler brother is so fascinated with her and always seems to want to play with her. He seems like he will be such a good brother to Jameela!

It has been a month and the baby is still not with her foster mom…because the boy is too rambunctious around her which is the case with all older siblings. They need to trust Freddy.

Dear Texas, Baby brother Keyobi wanted to get married to Jameela so it is a bit like growing up with your inlaws. Jameela says that there was a rejection from mother made by husband so Jameela would grow up close. Not mums fault. Not husband Keyobis fault. Not Jameelas fault. Just Love and Life. As they are not biologically brother and sister they can live together as married in the future.

@@elisemiller13LOL! Exactly! You have to be a very special zoo to be part of a breeding program of an endangered species like a gorilla. These are the top experts in the world caring for these animals. I think they know how to introduce a baby to a foster mother. I'm sure they've done it many times.

What I gethered from a post is that there was an issue with Momma on handling the baby.

I agree. The older gorilla sibling is always rambunctious-jealous-and I am sure Freddy would protect the baby the same way other gorilla mothers do. These “experts” make mistakes all the time, babies and gorillas dying one after another. Freddy has fostered before, successfully, so they need to let her do her thing. Jameela is cute and the keepers just want to care for her themselves, which is selfish.
