Was always distant from god growing up but recently over the last 2/3 years I have grown so much closer to god and always trying to learn and relax that everything is in gods hands 💚

Same here. My life was out of control up until 2 years ago. I suffered with bipolar type two disorder for so many years. I had fits of anger followed by long periods of depression and suicidal thoughts. I was abusive and neglectful towards my wife and drove my loved ones away. I eventually realized that I needed help and began seeing a therapist and taking anti depressants. I also tried exercise, meditation, dieting, marriage counseling but I was still so void of emotion. It felt like I was living my life as a ghost, so far removed from everything that I didn’t feel like I truly existed in the same space as everyone else. Things got gradually worse for years and when the medicine was no longer helping I felt like that was my last chance. My wife left me and I sat in an empty house alone and the most painful thing is that it didn’t bother me. I didn’t feel anything anymore. I placed a loaded gun to my head several times but because I felt like I’d tried everything and failed. In a moment of desperation I went into my living room, fell on my face and prayed to God, whom I did not know. I’d never prayed a sincere prayer before. I asked God to make me feel anything, pain, sadness, joy, anything besides this empty void. It was at that moment I felt Gods presence in the room and I was flooded with emotions. I cried for the first time in more years that I could remember. Ever since that single moment I have been free from depression. I cry tears of joy almost every day. My wife returned a few weeks later and I explained what happened to me and we both began reading the Bible together doing everything we can to get closer to the one who saved me. He saved our marriage, He saved my life. I no longer have anger issues or depression. I stopped taking medication after that day and have felt better than ever. I began to change in so many ways involuntarily. I felt a new emotion that I’d never know before, love. Compassion towards other people was completely foreign to me before that experience. It was a few days after my wife had returned home that she told me that my cousin was getting baptized that I began weeping with joy out of nowhere. I had never cared about the lives of other people, yet something within me now felt a sincere care and burden for others. Our marriage has been better than ever and I’ve seen such a change in my wife as well. If one moment in His presence was so life changing then I want to spend eternity in that same presence. He is the answer to that void in all of us, the light in the darkness.

@@Dead_Men_Come_Alive It makes sense, that an english reader, in an english recording, in a protestant nation, uses the NIV "UK", but it still has mistranslations that go against the original greek text of the new testament. This is by no means a judgement on my side, but a wake up call. Rejoin the original faith, and toss away the protestant heretical sect. Jesus wrote to different churches too, and I don't see anything wrong in warning people who are my brothers and sisters.
