Though life itself is short and meaningless, like a fleeting vapor fading out of existence, there is purpose and hope found in Jesus Christ who has a better future for us than anything we could ever hope for in this short time we are passing through this life. John 12:25 Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life James 4:14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 2 Corinthians 4:17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. Don’t fear death brother, there is much more than this life to gain in Christ.

I also have not found one upright woman......just sayin.
@Dead_Men_Come_Alive6 ай бұрын
It’s hard to find anyone upright in this wicked generation, both woman and many men as well have become full of vanity and selfishness, caring more for their outward adornments than the inner. Beautiful on the exterior, dressed and preened to perfection but with a heart that is rotten and corrupt to the core like a whitewashed tomb, yet I have found a beautiful wife with a wonderful spirit who loves God, so I know that you can too. Don’t seek women but seek God and He will do what is good for you my brother. You don’t need a woman who loves you, you need a woman who loves God first and through that great love also loves you with a deeper love than the sad definition this generation gives to love and everything will fall into its rightful place as God wills, as long as you do the same. Sorry if this gets jumbled, trying to paste these verses on a phone. 1 Peter 3:3-7 3Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair or gold jewelry or fine clothes, 4but from the inner disposition of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight. 5For this is how the holy women of the past adorned themselves. They put their hope in God and were submissive to their husbands, 6just as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord. And you are her children if you do what is right and refuse to give way to fear. 7Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as a delicate vessel, and with honor as fellow heirs of the gracious gift of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. Proverbs 31 1The sayings of King Lemuel-an inspired utterance his mother taught him. 2 Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers! 3 Do not spend your strength[a] on women, your vigor on those who ruin kings. 4 It is not for kings, Lemuel- it is not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer, 5 lest they drink and forget what has been decreed, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights. 6 Let beer be for those who are perishing, wine for those who are in anguish! 7 Let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more. 8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. 10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

There is no upright man or woman, we all have flaws. Whether it be anger, impatience, doubt, despair, fear or other aspects like unfaithfulness, bitterness or other specific things. At the end of the day you don’t find. Whatever happens finds you, because it has already been done. If you search, you will find because whatever you have searched was to be so. Just as when you look up a question to a problem you will most likely find it on Google. Some won’t be on Google, and for those you must look within. But you must do so with the guidance of God because it’s a very dark path, easy to fall. Perhaps it won’t be what you’re looking for, but it can all serve as a lesson.

Meaningless to what end? Solomon is saying that at the end of life, if there is only death, then everything done in life is meaningless. If at the end of this life is only death then all our toil (whether good or bad, lazy or diligent, wise or foolish) is all meaningless, without purpose. We are no better than animals who would reap the same fate though having sown nothing. But if at the end of life is eternal life, then everything is meaningful. If at the end of life there is a hope to reap what has been sown in life, then everything is meaningful. If there is a next life with God in eternity then all of our toil (done good, diligent, and wise) will not have been in vain. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 That’s why our hope is in eternity, that’s why all of our work is to accumulate heavenly gain/treasure. But if we toil for earthly gain/treasures/possessions/pleasures then it is all truly meaningless as it will all be destroyed with fire in the end. “Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:33-34 That’s why our focus is so important. It’s through focus on the joy set before Him that Christ endured the cross. It’s through focus on the kingdom that our toil is not in vain. Let everything you do be for the glory/obedience of Jesus. Keep thine eye single. Keep your focus/attention/priority 100% on God. “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 Commit to Him all of your plans, all of your toil, and all of your results/blessings on earth and He will establish your fruits in heaven. (Prov 16:3, 1 Cor 2:9, 1 Peter 1:3-4, and Matthew 25:34 ) In Jesus is our purpose, in Jesus is our meaning: “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.” Ecclesiastes 12:13

@@BarabbasTheRedeemed Temporal life, the point is that no matter what you gain in this life you will lose it in the end and be left with nothing but the account of the life you lived on the day of judgement. Okay, so here's the deal. Ecclesiastes was written after the dude was cursed, for killing one of his own high ranking soldiers in his own army, because he wanted to shtuup his wife.... and he already had a whole bunch of women he was shtuupin'. So. He was this wise, wise, wisest of all EXCEPT for Christ Jesus by his time, who was Wiser (not to also say, who was God in human form, "all power given unto him..' or whatever the scripture says...) anyway... so old grubby, went BLIND and Suffered, I think it was Lesions , very excruciating all over his body, for a long long time... and that, here's the point. PART OF ECCLESIASTES IS NOT TRUE. IT IS WRITTEN FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A MAN WHO WAS NO OKAY. HE WAS PISSED AND BITTER, AND NOT COMPLETELY IN HIS RIGHT MIND, AND NOT WITHIN THE ACTUAL PERVIEW OF WHAT IS WISEST AT ALL POINTS AND SPECFICS OF WHAT HE WROTE IN THE BOOK OF ECCLISIASTES, BECAUSE THE DUDE WAS MARRED AND SCURRILOUSLY PISSED BECAUSE HE HAD SCREWED OVER HIMSELF IN THE CONTEXT OF WHAT GOD HAD REALLY WANTED FOR HIS LIFE. sO, SOME OF THE PARTS OF ECCLESIATES HAVE PARTICULAR INSIGHTS, RELEVANCE, CERTAINLY BROAD SWEEPING STATEMENTS ABOUT LIFE, AND THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE, but,... not many things in there are of complete relevance to all things, particularly of the sense of ANYTHING DEFEATING OF THE MORALLISTIC PRINCIPLES OF CHARACTER THAT EMBODY, PERVAID, MANIFEST, REPRESENT, AND PERMEATE THE HUMAN CONSCIOUNESS AS AN ALL INCLUSIVE QUANTIFICATION OF WHAT WE ARE. . AND VERY MUCH SO ALSO, COMMONLY, SHORT SIGHTED DECISIONS, MADE FROM RANDOM IMPULSES EVEN SOMETIMES, AND ALSO, THE RAMIFICATIONS OF SAID SHORT SIGHTED IMPULSES, IN INTERPLAY, EXCHANGE, AND EVEN AT ODD'S SOMETIMES, AGAINST THE FULL CURTAIN, OF ALL THAT IS WHICH IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN, HAS EVER BEEN RECORDED BY MODERN HISTORY, ANCIENT HISTORY, THE AKASHIC RECORD. LOLOLOLOLOLOLO... ANYWAY... :-d JUST KIDDING... BUT ANYWAY... THE BOOK OF ECCLECIASTES IS WRITTEN BY DUDE AFTER HE INTENTIONALLY DID SOMETHING THAT IS OF THE MOST SERIOUS, AND ONLY MAJOR THINGS NOT TO DO. AND SO, AFTER IT SAYS THAD GOD PUNISHED HIM, FOR HIM DOING SOMETHING THAT TERRIBLE TO SOMEONE LIKE THAT, SOLOMON GOT PISSED, WAS MAD OLD, WAS BITTER, KIND OF BIASED AGAINST REALITY, AND THE FULL TRUTH AND KNOWLEDG OF ALL REALITY EVADED HIM. = I AINT SAYING, that I know anything other than of course of that which is the full scope of that which I have read and fathomed, experienced, learned, been made aware of, etc., myself, ... and of course to give a little insight into the motivating emotions behind some of his ruminations in the book of Ecclesiastes, and many great and fully insightful truths come from there, as well. But, a very major disclaimer should be known about the book, as I've just mentioned. So that he does write things in there, apparently, that are not wise for knowledge of the greater Wisdom, and ultimate Power, and Respect and Worth, that is the Wisdom and true meanings of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Friend, Wonderful Counselor, Lover of "my" soul(each of us in the family of god), and the Prince of Peace. Kindness, goodness, gentility, and well-being because of effort and help which is needed by any and all of us as we go through our days, in order so as to turn our hands against the gears of reality, which makes us have all of our resources, needs, and well-being, helpfulness, mean anything at all... and despite the enemy, refusing to show mercy, nor common decency of forgiveness, nor equal regard for common well-being, and the inalienable rights, of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.. as it was once known and witness, unto, and of course, as some parts of existence seem to portray or be, are at various points of well-being, and not necessarily in accord with the knowledge of God's love for our lives. Beware of perversions of the madness of the Enemy, the separately identifiable presence of the so-called Evil 'One", of which exists as a 'being' as per the scriptures of the saints, so told to us in order to make us aware enough so as to defend ourselves, by arming us with knowledge, faith enough to have actually read and known the scripture, and be aware of the need for added perception and qualifying of others as we go about the world, making friends, or including ourselves in the lives of others, as per whether, they are actually of the trustworthiness of the Family of God, more particularly, if they are of perhaps our own personal trajectories in our each own personal lives, and most of all by the knowledge that this division does exist, in the evil in humankinds hearts, that goes even beyond simple down-to-earth hearth wisdom about human life's needs. Be aware that many exists copulating, and congregating quite commonly now days, in many many many most places around the planet it seems somewhat, at the very least more prominently now in the current times,... who are not of the True knowledge of the Love of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the one True relevance to all human kind, any goodness of any sense for our lives, unanimously, for those of us as the one true family of God, AIN, and the Logos, Yehoshuhva the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Brother, The Good Shepherd, the Faithful, The Word incarnate, and Savior of mankind.

So some of the writings of Ecclesiastes are written from a bit of a skewed view point, in-so-much, that the author's perspective was a bit off, and that some of the things written in there, aren't necessarily true, but that each of them, has sometimes a tone of intrinsically embittered, and hewn destructiveness to its word, in some of his cynical prescriptions about the world, and life, purpose, meaning, etc.,... sometimes, probably because he was older at the time of its writing, partially permutated for his 'authorship' perhaps by others to an editorial degree perhaps, but also because he was in pain, serious amounts, that may have jaded and colored his perspectives on life, to a notice-able degree, and obviously imbuing an intrinsic bias to that book of the bible in particular, that shows in particularly in the greatly negatively acclimating verses, to some notice-able degree, although intermingled with the more overarching perceptions about season, and less personally bitter, and mired curmudgeon rhetoric, that is combined with the astuteness otherwise attributed to the authors place amongst wisdom literature, and of the veneration as of which has been given to the Bible, by the sheer gravitas of it being of the formality's of the Holy Universal Church as witness to the historical account and authority, of the God of Thomas Alva Edison.

While King Solomon made numerous mistakes and indulged in worldly pleasures, his experiences ultimately led him to write Ecclesiastes. He understood better than most that earthly possessions cannot bring lasting contentment to the human heart. Even if one were to fulfill every desire here on Earth, all efforts would ultimately prove futile, and the world would never be enough to satisfy the soul. A life lived longing for earthly desires is a life ultimately wasted. We live only a few short years on this Earth, followed by an eternity. Christ revealed a hope that goes beyond the temporal, a hope that King Solomon never knew. Solomon teaches us why we should not place our treasures on Earth, while Christ shows us why we should place our treasure in heaven. Matthew 6:19-21 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. John 12:25 The one who loves his life loses it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer person is decaying, yet our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. While Ecclesiastes may initially seem bleak and hopeless, the perspective provided by the New Testament, specifically the resurrection and the free gift of eternal life, offers a much more meaningful interpretation. I can relate to Solomon's experiences, as I have wasted many years of my life chasing after things I thought would bring me contentment, only to be met with disappointment. Everything feels so meaningless. You get high, you come down; you make money, you lose money; you gain a friend, you lose a friend. All that a person places their hope in will elude them like sand falling through their hands. Only Christ brings true purpose, peace, contentment, joy, and a reason to get out of bed each day that is not based on selfish desire and does not leave you with the same empty feeling that all other things ultimately do.

Everything is meaningless but to serve God? That seems quite meaningless in itself, dark and tyrannical. Fanatical.

Because the only thing that is everlasting is God. And serving God means to do good in this life and to love others, as Jesus said. To fear and serve God, is to serve what is good. It's not because this sky guy is wanting worship, it is because the all-powerful and all knowing being that created us, created us to love. And because God is good, and God is love, serving him brings us eternal peace and joy. However if we keep going for the things in this world, those things are fleeting, and eventually they will all fail. In short, God will not fail in the end, but money wealth and possessions will.
