I love all of James' bass lines on the Albert King albums from the early and mid 70's. Great songs and bass playing on those songs.

Nah. His father is the guy playing trumpet in the soulfinger video where they have on the leather vests with no shirts. Jazze Pha is named after the sax player.

To " keep the change " it seems you think he had something to do with the fatal crash, we live in the world of the unexpected and yeah GOD only knows , he was feeling sick and that cause for him to miss it . One surviver ( the trumpet player ) had said it had something to do with the weather and the condition of the charter plane and otis was co - piloting it . What im saying is james Alexander couldn't make it .... I BELIEVE his deceased band members are telling him to move on and KEEP THE BAR- KAYS name out there ! ❤✌👊

Redding owned that plane; it was not a charter. While Otis was up front, we don't know - and never will - who was at the controls. The only survivor, Cauley (who is also passed now), has stated that he was asleep until moments before impact. We also know that the plane had some history of electrical issues prior to Redding's ownership and even the day of the accident. That's not all that unusual. While there were some eyewitness reports of possible mechanical issues, post crash investigation revealed no problems. Likely, pilot Fraser (Redding was not a pilot) became disorientated. Of course, none of this matters any longer.
