@jasminateodorovic12483 жыл бұрын
@@jamieod8556 Depends on what you mean by "underrated". Among serious musicians, as well as genuine music lovers he most definitely is recognized and held in high esteem. If you mean, commercially, USA-type 'underrated', every authentic, real deal musician is. Except a select few who, I can only guess, but had a stroke of luck at the moment when they even reconciled with them to keep writing heavily promoted songs for others. One of them is the amazing Chris Stapleton who publicly said in an interview that it was that moment of pure luck that a producer happened to listen to his demo tape in his car. He was the only one, among the many who knew of Chris more than well enough, who called him and offered a helping hand, after some 10, 15 years of Chris performing in low key bars, writing hit after hit for others. Hope the producer, talent-seeking one, will some day hear James' song on the radio and be willing to stand by the side of a genuine musician. James is one of a kind

i’m a whole ass what, five years late? I coulda really used this song back then. I wish I discovered it sooner lol. I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self harm, literally anything you could think of, I’ve probably dealt with it at some point. Life gets shitty. And I’m sure people in this comments section aren’t strangers to that. This song has some of the truest lyrics I’ve heard. I’ve known I’m “a soldier at war” in a sense; always fighting against my latest shit urge, whether that to stay in bed all day, or something worse. I’ve been trying to get better for years now, and shit always slips back. But it’s about how you get up that defines you. “I define my recovery.” It’s a rocky slope. But to anybody who took the time to read this, shit does improve. It takes work, and a willingness, but things will get better. Even if they seem impossible. Take it from me.

Recovery" I don't want to play this game no more I don't wanna play it I don't want to stay 'round here no more I don't wanna stay here Like rain on a Monday morning Like pain that just keeps on going on Look at all the hate they keep on showing I don't want to see that Look at all the stones they keep on throwing I don't want to feel that Like Sun that will keep on burning I used to be so discerning, oh In my recovery I’m a soldier at war I have broken down walls I defined I designed My recovery In the sound of the sea In the oceans of me I defined I designed My recovery Keep soaring, Keep song-writing My recovery And I can hear the choirs keep on singing Tell me what they’re saying And I can hear the phone It keeps on ringing I don’t want to answer I know that I used to listen And I know I’ve become dismissive In my recovery I’m a soldier at war I have broken down walls I defined I designed My recovery In the sound of the sea In the oceans of me I defined I designed My recovery Keep soaring, Keep song-writing My recovery In my recovery I’m a soldier at war I have broken down walls I defined I designed My recovery In the sound of the sea In the oceans of me I defined I designed My recovery Keep soaring, Keep song-writing My recovery

Survivor Has anyone ever told you that you aren't enough or that you can’t do something? Well let me tell you that's not true! You are enough, you can do anything you put your mind to! When I was younger I was told that I was too small or too young to do something! But, I never listened. We are all survivors! We all trace the road to our future! We all hit those roadblocks! But, instead of stopping we continue! We strive for the future and we survive! So, the next time someone says you aren’t enough or that you can’t do something don’t listen, survive because we are survivors! This is for anyone who needs this

All these people slagging him off have absolutely NO CLUE about music and I feel sorry for them that they have the inability to 'get inside' a song and experience emotion (which is what music is all about). If you could experience this feeling then you would truly understand how amazing and powerful this song is.
@bazdaj25127 жыл бұрын
Michael, I so agree with you!!!!! It is like they use foul language, abuse bands, and miss the whole point of this song. I had tears in my eyes. I am an alkie, and other people do not understand the struggle I went thru all these years. I was judged, looked down on etc, no one know how stuck I was, struggling and so alone. Only the AA bunch understands how trapped I was, in my sick sick head that lead me down the road of destruction. Today, I am free of self bondage!!!! So to me that is why I relate to the words of this song, and his voice really expresses pain there, or previous pain. I pray if you are struggling, that you are still abstinent today, coz your share is 2 years ago.

James thank you for this song, like!!!!!! Today, I celebrated with your song, my 10th year of sobriety, mine is alcohol. People that are not addicts do not realise how hard it is for us alkies. There has been times where I almost picked up, when I had problems I thought I could not endure, but by the Grace of God, when ever I begged my HP, He saved me every time. I never ever thought I would stop drinking, everyone had given up on me and judged me, and I eventually started living in my own cocoon. Thank God today, I am sober, and have gained everyone"s respect and trust again. It has been a very hard and tough ride but well worth the journey. I pray i am encouraging someone that is still suffering, to give it a shot, it changed my whole life, and I finally trust God, and found peace. As they say, IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT, YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!! I now know FINALLY, that I am worth it. HALT! Get rid of pride, pick up the phone. I was atheist, now I have humbled myself and hit the floor hard, and He helps everytime you ask Him to, try it. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!!!! Just take that first step, it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life, and I am so grateful I did. Ring AA, NA, what ever addiction you have, pick up the phone, they do not judge, infact everyone in the meeting struggles from the same thing. May God be with you, and give you strength.

keeg burkholder this song has so much pain and realism in it. Im in a rough spot right now myself and im trying to, I guess, find the strength and courage to do another re-invention. The last two took everything so this one is like stepping off a cliff blind-folded. I've used up all the tricks in my bag, you know. This time...I dont know what is going to happen or become of me. Faith is what I have and thats it. I cant stay where I am but im scared to move too. Squeezed. Which way? This song is where I am. The song "The Last Time" also James A. written by John McCough feels me too. Both songs are where I am right this minute.

No matter what he is doing James absolutely smashes it out of the arena and annihilates the mediocre with every single note, he doesn't do anything by halves or even just 'great' it isn't in his vocabulary. I am crazy about his voice, crazy about his honesty and realism - an idea or opinion doesn't have to be popular to be true in fact honesty & reality rarely are popular. There will always be haters but James is so much higher than that. The power of the Gods never concern themselves with the lives of bugs, haters are worth much much less than bugs.
