No sir, wesley windey is correct; she is certainly on his level when it comes to singing skill. Intimate performances, like this one, that are just guitar or piano, require the harmony vocal to be an equally good lead vocal; the volumes are practically the same because the desired sound is two lead vocalists singing together, sounding as one person ideally. This is a totally different monster compared to your typical bar, and even many successful band's, use of the guitarist or bassist doing harmonies with his mic turned down lower to hide flaws like: lack of control, power, vibrato, and even (Yikes!!) losing harmony. For you to even say she's not giving her soul into it either means you have never sang a note in you're life, so therefore have no credibility whatsoever, or you're deaf; I mean you can literally feel their performance. I believe when you said "real" world you meant to say "world of inaccurate and disrespectful, off the top of my head, statistics." I'm just going to give you the benefit of the doubt you we're exaggerating (immensely), but it is not even close to those numbers. First of all, it is pretty much irrelevant to bring up singers from the whole world because to do harmony on this level, for this song, you would need to be English to study all the little detailed changes (and there are many little variances and things in his vibrato) that have to be matched perfectly and on time (like his trademark woahs that are ingeniously placed). What's even more remarkable is you said "not only those you hear on TV/radios." The radio has few authentic singers on it that can sing consistently and are just the real fucking deal like James and Samantha. Ed Sheeran is great of course, but I still think James hands down has a better tone to his voice overall and definitely more control. Adele is great of course and Chris Stapleton is just phenomenal and so unique. I know there are a few more, but I set the bar as high as it gets if we're talking about James because he could quite be the best male vocalist consistently singing right now. You most certainly totally disrespected and vastly underrated how rare a great and flawless vocalist like Samantha is, who can mold their voices around many different styles of singers; most singers COULD NEVER do a harmony to save their lives because it is a completely different skill set and requires a lot of time spent training the ear that is only gained through experience (like singing since they were young, young children) and through trying to replicate other great harmonies like maybe some CSNY or Simon and Garfunkel and learning the "magic" behind designing a harmony. Almost all of the great singers do their own harmony on album because they know, if you understand harmony, your voice harmonizes the best with itself because it would be like you and your clone doing great harmonies. No one will read this I know, but god damn this dude is ignorant and has no clue about the talent gap between a Samantha and one of these "tens of millions" he's talking about.

In general this cover competes with some of the greatest at covers, and James really didn't even change it like they always did; just pure bliss listening to this; does more in under 4 minutes than therapy could ever do. It's such a shame that even people that listen to James, for the most part, do not have the capacity and attention span to get what they should out of it.
