I think they changed the tempo without telling either of them. It feels like it's at 125% speed. Marla is out of breath as she catches up to it. Love her and this. This musical is everything

Yes. Common problem with Tony Awards presentations. The producers get a little time slot in the broadcast and want to include as much material as they can.

Marla went out of tune. I have seen her twice in toronto with Anthony Crivello in the original Canadian cast and she was magnificent. Couldn't she hear the music? Try to get the Canadian recording as well. It's great.

As I understand it, she was ill that day, but rolled with it anyway. Takes guts, that. Kudos to her if it was true. But yeah, James was... beyond words. Just... ooh.
