James Best Interview | Part 8: Ad-libbing

I took my sons to a car show here in Louisville, KY in 2004 and James Best, Ben Jones, and Sonny Shroyer were there. My son's favorite at the time was Enos so I was very excited to meet him with them. When we got to the front of the line Sonny's security stopped us because we hadn't bought his merchandise and Sonny wouldn't even look our way. James Best saw what happened and stood up and came over to us in full character. He said I'll sign anything you want and if people don't like that I'll cuff 'em and stuff 'em. So glad I got that on video, Mr. Best was a total class act!

I never got the chance to meet this brilliant actor I’m so glad he got the part of Rosco P Coltrane I watch it often on DVD He’s with his friend Sorrel Booke in heaven fishing RIP Jimmy Best Your the Best👍😘

I'm glad I got to meet James Best I only lived about 25 miles from where he lived went to see him at a play in Hickory North Carolina took a few pictures and got to talk a few minutes I could tell he was a good person I've seen him a year before he passed away God bless James best and his family

James Best was really great. He never lost his touch. Sometimes I think that if he would have been a real sheriff that the bad guys would be in big trouble

OBSCURE FACT: Sorrell was the narriator of a multi-vinyl set of a documentary on the NASA SPACE CENTER called "To The Moon' in his 'regular' voice. RECORDS
