I’ve been listening to James for roughly 7 years now. And every time I need some sort of comfort, he has been there for me with open arms. He is so riveting, and he evokes the emotions I dare not show to anyone. And look, here he is, again, in my time of need, blessing me with this beauty. Thank you, James.

So fucking same. Been listening him for the same amount of years and always felt very connected to him. I already saw him live and it's beautiful. As you said, thank you, James, for your music and your heart, you truly understand what a lot of us are passing or already passed by.

Tiago Da Cunha that’s fucking dope. I get to finally see him in March. My friend told me he was coming to town and I started sobbing in class, I didn’t believe it. Because he hadn’t been here since 2001 (Minnesota) (also, the year I was born) so I was like, there is no fucking way I’ll be able to see him. He hates us. Then he drops the U.S tour dates, and an album. I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven. I thought I’d be stuck watching his BBC, Glastonbury, New York, and NPR live performances forever.

It’s been many, many years since I first discovered James. I was in a very deep depression, abusing drugs.. and when I heard his music for the first time, I dropped to my knees and sobbed. Listening to this now, I can’t help but let the tears stream down my face. Even though it’s been years since my life was in this terrible place, it’s like he said “you let go, and you forget where you are”. His music allows me to forget.

I think Assume Form’s major conceit is that it is meant to be more accessible than his previous work. This song is meant to be contemplative and dreamy-accomplished. Mile High is meant to be a radio-facing pop-trap banger-definitely mission accomplished there. Can’t fault James for widening his palate, and honestly Mile High is a lot more in his wheelhouse than any of us probably thought when the tracklist leaked.
@treyjordan12845 жыл бұрын
Mile high, even though its more trap oriented. Its still very creative. Seeing what he can dp with the genre. I listen to both these styles all the time. Soft melodic atmospheric music and rap/trap. To see them together was honestly a blast. But thats just me. Like you said, thats your opinion and I respect it.
@feketefeher5 жыл бұрын
kay dee let’s see: i like lullaby for my insomniac: that’ts a 1. i don’t like mile high: so that’s a -1. that equals 0, so not in hating part at all. i have my taste in music and that might not evolve in the same direction as his work. i’m a fan of James Blake’s music so still my first thing in the morning, after the release of assume form, was to save the album on spotify and listen to it. i’m glad to see him happy and releasing a new album.
