My main beef is when manufacturers don't make the remote match the general styling of the stereo equipment. Imagine how cool that remote would have looked had it had a brown or textured brown plastic shell and buttons with a brushed steel face which would really have matched up nicely with that Crosley unit. :)

FYI the button centered on the bottom left row is a starburst symbol, usually used for BRIGHTNESS for the display. Nice review as usual!

I cannot thank you enough! New fan of your channel and new fan of Crosley thanks to this channel! I started with the Crosley Dansette Bermuda and then added this for my CDs. This player is excellent IMO and I also run the Bermuda thru it via the RCA jacks. The Bermuda speakers are decent on their own but combined with the Fleetwood, it makes for a very cool listening experience with them set at 45 degree angles from each other. Listening to Zeppelin's debut album on vinyl with this setup as I write this actually, its awesome. I also picked up the Crosley CT200 tape player based off your videos and love that too! I have the 201 boombox coming tomorrow, want to try that out as well but will probably just keep one of them. Thanks and keep up the great videos.

That's a cool, neat little system. I quite like the design of it with all the buttons on the front and, yes the speakers do look mesmerising, but it looks so great. It's also nice to have a remote control with it, I like that. However I feel that they could have had DAB radio on it as well, a bit of a missed opportunity maybe, but it's a neat system nonetheless and it sounds great too. That looks like it would be pretty neat hooked to a Target Heyday or A/T LP60 for a budget/compact stereo. CD, bluetooth, vinyl, radio. And an Aux-In for an additional input.

I appreciate this review! Perhaps in the future, when demoing audio gear, you might do it in a room besides an echoey kitchen. Though many people may want to use this unit in their kitchen, recording the sound there is generally not ideal for showcasing audio quality.

I'm not sure if the cabinet is completely tuned to the speaker ports, especially with the plate on the back with the grill holes in it. For this purpose, I'm sure it's fine, but I'm not sure about bass reflex cabinet being perfectly tuned. However, the buzz sounded like you had a ground loop when you were touching the metal part of the cabinet. Can you reverse the plug polarity? I'd try that out to see if that omits the buzz. It sounds fine. Personally, when you're talking, I actually think the lav mic sounds better, at least that's my preference. It looks nice and as always, great review. Thanks for sharing.

Hi! Thanks for the great review! I’m also a big fan of both records and CDs. Good to know there are others out there! About this product, I’m wondering if you can set the alarm to a Cd track so it plays a song I’ve chosen as the alarm? I used to do this way back in high school w my stereo (now long gone) and found it much easier to wake up to. Immediate rock out sesh upon waking 🎶 😆

This style of music system is very popular, over here in the UK we have several manufacturers offering similar styled products at different price points. Ruark are near the top with their cd/Bluetooth/dab+/streaming whilst Amazon sell the Majority Oakington at the lower end of the market. That cd drawer is a bit fierce on your Crosley, I’ve not seen one spit a cd out so quickly! Have you tried hooking a turntable up to the aux socket? Something with a built in preamp.

Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question but for the AUX in on the back of the device, is that meant for like connecting an iPod to the stereo system?

Tech you could connect anything via cable to this unit with the aux including an IPod or DAP/MP3 player. I personally like to still use cables instead of Bluetooth because I’ve had some issues with Bluetooth disconnecting or not paring right. But, to each his own.

I recently bought a new CD player for my home office, and I looked at this model, but not being able to sample the sound when buying something online, I didn’t get this one because the speakers looked small. I was afraid the sound would suffer for the sake of design aesthetic. Now, I kind of wish I had seen this video before opting for a different player. It seems from this video that this player does have good sound after all. The one I got is pretty good, but lacks sufficient bass. For both of them, I do wish they would actually do a graphic EQ instead of presets.

Thanks for doing this video. I was wondering if this unit is as good as the similar Victrola and the Insignia that I own. It seems to have a nice sound and some neat features. I listen to your video through my Victrola's BT and it sounded very similar. It needs to have USB and a headphone jack to justify the price though. Both my units have that and the cost was under 75.00 for each. They really do a nice job when connected to my TV's! Saw your CD video and was very enlightening. Even though vinyl is very " sexy" I think CD's are the top's in sound quality for me. Is it possible for you to review the Victrola and Insignia and see who the winner is? I won't ask you to do the Bose version because I have 2 and I don't want to lose that one. Keep safe and thanks!

Looks a lot like one sold at BB a few years ago, I really liked it but it was lacking AM radio so I didnt get it. I know the Gov was paying companies to not put AM in their FM units to cut back exposure to talk radio.

It looks good, but if you look closer the fit and finish looks iffy. The bottom of the cabinet where the "wood" looks warped. I don't think this player would fill a room with the volume cranked up, it looks like it would easily distort the quality of sound.

There isn't such a thing as < pure digital > in the thumbnail >>> YET ?? it's just a digital process in between the mics-ADCs in studio - n' DACs ufortunatelly cause the nature is analog but i would like to see CD transport - digital amp via digital cable and final to special speakers via digital speaker cables and all this without ANY DAC envolved

Here we are in 2020 and there's a lot of trouble going on in the world right now with Covid-19 and political indifferences and a big election coming up and here we are still talkin about which musical format is the best. I really can't believe it!🥱 It's a topic that's over 35 years old! CDs came out in 1983 and the topic still rages on about which is better. Is it Vinyl Records or is it CDs? There's an extremely simple answer to that question: It's a matter of preference. And that's it! I am a Vinyl Record Die Hard. I refused to buy a CD player in the 1980s. I finally caved in the last week of 1993 and bought a Philips CD player because new music that I wanted to buy was only available on CD and Cassette Tapes here in the USA . With the general terrible sound of Cassette Tapes I was finally forced to go out and buy a CD player. CD always stood for " Convenient Disc" for me. And that's what they were and still are. They are convenient. But stores like Walmart can't even give a CD away these days but they can still sell a Vinyl Record! I bought a few Vinyl Records at my local Walmart store within the last year. Brand new pressed Vinyl Records actually outsold CD's last year worldwide! I think that's saying something. If your favorite format is CD then God bless you! I have well over 9000 Records in my collection that I have been collecting seriously since 1978. I started when I was 14 years of age and haven't looked back! I do have a CD player and I do have probably about 400 to 500 CDs. I can't even remember the last time I played a CD. You don't see it as often as you used to but these debates on Vinyl Record VS. CD has had its day......I know that this was not the topic of this video, but I just had to say something..... Thanks for the videos Mr Record-ology Dude Man!.....(As far as the item that you reviewed in this video, it's a Crosley and I don't like it!......It was kind of cool how the side of the Box almost matched your setting in the background!).....
