It’s not even his skill anymore that impresses me but the fact that Charles can still give that drive to a bass solo and still make me vibe to it every time, I think his composition is very overlooked when compared to his technique!

That's given me flashbacks to a gig where the plan for the intro was for the guitarist and violinist to do a rope descent dressed in tuxedos from a balcony while me (bass) and the drummer played the dum diddle dum dum bit of the Bond theme. Violinist got his rope tangled, couldn't get down, all the audience could see was his swinging legs... me and the drummer just kept on playing this Bond riff for about ten minutes until they untangled him... possibly the most Spinal Tap moment of my playing career....

The end part with the sparks was cool. I had a dream almost exactly like that once. I had to get off of a spaceship and the only weapon I had was a guitar, but no pick, so I couldn’t break the walls of the spaceship. Then I found a bass and I was able to slap a bit and did some damage but still couldn’t breach the walls. Finally, somehow, I got a guitar pick and I was able to shred and slice through the walls of the space ship and jumped out back down to earth.
