Listening to this February 2023. The best entertainer ever dance moves. No one can sing like James Brown. The hardest working man in show buisness ever.

James Brown was BAAAAAAD Mother! (shut you mouth) I loved JB and am a die-hard fan!! I had the honor of seeing him live in concert more than 9 times. Lord! Don't get me started. That man could bring the house down. RIP JB Godfather of Soul

James Brown's energy was infectious when he performed this medley 25 years later on an outdoor stage at a music festival in Augusta, GA. Even though he and his band members were past retirement age they presented a flawless performance. In this video at times the horns & saxes sound like one instrument instead of 4. It's said that he docked pay if band members missed a note or screwed up on stage. He knew that his audience worked menial jobs and made sacrifices to buy tickets to his concerts and he did not want to disappoint. He was a real showman with a message: Get On Your Good Foot!

According to his autobiography THE GODFATHER OF SOUL, "I was going through a very hard time in my life. When i was singing Get up offa that thing and dance till you feel netter,,I was really thinking Dance Till I Feel Better!" However it played out in real time one fact is undeniable, James Brown brought the NEW NEW SUPER HEAVY FUNK with him every step of the way, If'n he was here right now he would tell us all to GET UP OFFA THAT THING, AND DANCE!

I'd love to know who played in the JB's during this time. Definitely Hollie Farris and Russel Crimes on trumpet, I see two drumkits but I only see one drummer which is Tony Clark. David Weston on bass. Is that Jimmy Nolen on guitar? I really can't tell, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love James Brown, but the obvious overdubbed audience (excited roar in audio loops) seems too ridiculous especially if you watch the not so excited audience in the video...
@PaulDA20005 жыл бұрын
There is no overdubbed audience. This was recorded just as you hear it. This was not an official release concert this is just recorded live at the time, so I don’t know where you get this idea that there’s an overdubbed audience LOL
