James Brown had his flaws, but I think deep down he really was a genuinely good guy and had God in him.

What have you've been smoking my friend? Michael is a musician and is considerable one of the greatest innovators of music the last 30 years. He was a respected artist when he was 8, touring with Etta James, and performing before Gladys Knight&the pips, James Brown, Sam&Dave and so on. Even Prince & James admired him, that's why Prince plays his songs on his set list.

This is the forefather...he knew exactly what he was talking about and if it wasn’t for Mr.Brown there’d be no Michael Or Prince. Show him the respect he deserves because he busted down doors so we could have a Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' or a Housequake or a Uptown Funk..It all goes back to him

WOW! just read up on James Brown's personal life and man was he anything but clean he was convicted of domestic abuse, theft, assaulting an officer, carrying and abusing drugs, and being armed with an unlawful weapon. He still iconic and the Godfather of Soul but kinda hypocritical to call others not clean with his record

JB invented disco, the real biz but he hated playing that overhyped cocaine disco in the mid/late 70’s. That shit was a real drag, ya know? Totally demeaning. That’s why punk rock had to happen and soul brother #1! backed it up all the way. Elvis, Prince, Zapp & Roger, the Ramones, all youthful musical movement... he supported it all. He did tire back in the early days of hip-hop all those uncredited samples with no “big payback” but you’d probably feel the same way if you were in one of his 2000 pairs of boss shoes. Pay the cost or get lost ❤️⚡️

my bad, did the math wrong. Prince has 34 years in the business being that it's 2010. So recalculating, Michael's got 8 years on Prince and JB's got 16 years on Prince.

I'm not sure he was Republican - at least not modern day Republican. He probably would have disagreed with most of Bush's policies. When he's saying these other artists should clean up their acts, that's mostly his religion talking. And like most Christians, it's like: Do as I say, not as I do. This guy beat women like it was his hobby. and he spent several years in jail, when he was a teenager, and again in the late 80's. He led cops on a high speed chase, and had like 23 shots fired at him!

@giugnhgbvinierngvb89 : I didn't say Prince started 30 years after Michael. I was combining MJ and JB's carreers together since u said he lasted longer than both of them. JB alone has been performing for 50 years and since Prince has been in the game for 34, he has atleast 16 more years to perform in order to last longer than JB and atleast 8 to last longer than MJ. 30 was a number I kinda just threw out there, noticed I said 20/30, it was a guestimate before doing the actual math

I get what JB saying, however, I rather be dirty and outrageous onstage and be a gentleman and live a clean life offstage than vice versa. Onstage isnt real. It's an illusion. After the lights go up, audience leaves the arena, u left with yourself. Offstage is the real you.
@Refining1
@Refining1 4 жыл бұрын
You have a point, but I think JB is more talking about respect. Notice he mentioned his mother and children. What you say is true. "Conservatives" are always getting caught with their pants down. If you're really clean behind closed doors, though, some things you wouldn't even feel comfortable doing on stage.

@giugnhgbvinierngvb89 I'm not saying that Prince didn't make more albums or went on more tours than MJ...It's just that you said Prince's carreer lasted longer. The amount of work you do versus how long you've been doing it is two different things and with that, MJ has been doing it longer therefore, MJ's carreer has a longer span than Prince's....thas all I'm saying.

@giugnhgbvinierngvb89 : Ummmmm, Prince's carreer can not last longer than Jame's or Michael's until atleast 20/30 more years. James was out in the 50s and Michael Jackson broke onto the scene in the late 60s w/ the Jackson 5 both of which have been performing about 20+ years longer than Prince.

I hate to have to criticize The Godfather, but that's for on the floor shit he's doing don't cut the mustard for me..... that don't sound like the James Brown funk.... don't get me wrong I am one of the biggest James Brown fans. I own over 55 James Brown albums. From 1956 to 1990 James Brown is truly the godfather of soul I saw him in concert back in the early 70s and the mid-70s what a showman. 💜❤️💜❤️💜🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵😎🤜🏾🤛🏻❤️💜💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
