The shocking secret was in his will, he left nothing to his 2 adopted children and willed it all to his beloved wife, whom he called “Billie.” You can research it online, as it is written about in all the books on him. He felt they needed to learn responsibility, and earn it. Perhaps because he was so private, they may have been spoiled in their hearts…it is never fully explained. But I think part of it related to how he grew up the very hard way…literally earning every penny, doing any job, to help his mother and family. They just didn’t bring it up here, but I adored him, and that’s in black and white in every story ever written about him.
