I’m a sucker for any movie with an impactful and meaningful message and his response on his decision to include children in this sequel to show not only the parental struggles but the childrens’/teens’ struggles (like w the pandemic irl) makes it super relatable and important (also being a teacher, I love anything w kids in it)

And people said for so many years that Avatar 2 would be completely irrelevant, no one would be interested about it since everyone had already forgot about the first movie and look what happened again? There the movie sits 1,4 billion now and even if it doesnt reach the numbers original Avatar made, its most likely is gonna make over 2 billion eventually and be among top 5 highest grossing movies ever (not adjusted for inflation) So whenever ppl have doubted Cameron in these past 25 years or so after Titanic, they have always been proven wrong. 5:15 this looks like they rendered certain foreground elements separately, and in 16:9, or at a wider field of view than eventually used. I love how a production this size deals with things like artificially letterboxing and messing up some of the footage released. I'm sure for the cinema cut they deliver the correct aspect ratio, not letterbox it, as you want to utilise the size of the 21:9 screens appropriately. But still, that was a fun nugget in here :D Also love the lead with love mentality! So much!

[Nobody will see a movie because it's in 3D.] This has always been the mistake and why things that should be advances to a medium become gimmicks. Nintendo didn't advance their hardware to produce some of the first 3D videogames like _Mario64_ or _Ocarina of Time_ and then sit on their laurels for the games themselves both of those titles would still have been made to the same standard if they'd been in 2D. And sure enough, just as there are lots of lazy 3D movies trying to cash in on the technology without respecting it or the medium there were many lazy games in those early days that were just existing properties "in 3D." They weren't. They were 3D games with some intellectual property rights thinly veiled over them making for just a hollow experience.
