It really puts time into perspective on video games when you think about it. The employees at rockstar were having nightmares about the snuff style murder of Manhunt but currently we have Mortal Kombat which has most the most graphic kills in well... 99% of media and as far as im aware that team LOVES their job

​@@TheDeathMare People just toughened up over time, some devs are made to watch actual gore to better create gore IN their games today, couple that up with how people get desensitized a lot younger and quicker since well, the internet is huge and people just don't give much of a shit Rockstar Vienna made way more gorier and realistic executions compared to the somewhat sluggish ones in the first game and they almost finished the game in 2006 (which was targeted for only the PS2 with high quality data streaming from the disc so imagine way better models, textures, lighting, effects and etc on top of that) before their subsidiary was shut down, good to mention that they also had a pitch for a religious fanatic story which was in dev for a year since 2004 but was stopped because higher ups thought it was "too much", probably to avoid backlash.
