If someone sells alcohol or cigarettes to someone underage, it doesn’t matter if they lied about their age or not. The person selling those things are responsible for making sure that the person is not underage and they are the ones that will be in trouble. So trying to say “oh but they lied about their age, it’s not James’ fault” doesn’t hold up because obviously if he’s going for younger guys then he had to be aware that the people he’s messaging might be underage especially because he’s only 21 or smth. So it’s his job to make sure they’re telling the truth about their age, especially when he knows the consequences for doing stuff exactly like what he did.
@katelyn25453 жыл бұрын
You make a great point. Bar tenders/restaurants can be fined or worse for serving alcohol to minors, accidentally or not. The repercussions for this situation ought to be just as severe. I agree. I’d also add that huge age gaps are red flags even later in life... I got married at 24 to someone 20 years older than me. I know I should’ve known better at 24 but love blinds us all. They are kids, anyone who looks back at when they were 15/16 realise eventually how much sh*t you don’t know at that age. James is now 21, a full grown man who voluntarily adds these kids on sc. So I don't think your own subjective experience accounts for every scenario on the planet. The way people are brought up and their culture influences their maturity. Also I'm not excusing James but the allegations 3 years ago, he would have been 17 or 18 years old himself, he was literally a kid too. Yes he's admiting to criminal activity now but you can see how he is just still immature and I don't think he can be compared to people like bill Cosby. But yes, James still needs to face the consequences of his actions since he is an adult now.
@nikijpeg3 жыл бұрын
@@roxi9496 I mean I didn’t compare him to Bill Cosby but you’re definitely defending a predator for his predatory actions. I didn’t say anything about him dating minors when he was also a minor. I also didn’t say anything about an imbalance in age between two people in their 20’s so I’m not sure where you got any of that
@roxi94963 жыл бұрын
@@nikijpeg i first addressed you specifically by using my own example that age doesn't necessary determine maturity, there are a lot of other things that influence it. The rest of my comment is addressing Ethans points in the video.

So crazy because I know a kid from my high school who was 19 at the time and was asking a “16 year old female” for photos. Said she was underage he didn’t care. He was arrested for soliciting photos. Also now a registered sex offender. But yet there is all this proof on James and he walks free...

That’s exactly why he does that, i used to be in a server when i was about 13 and there was a guy in his 20s in one of the chats. He ended up getting exposed for molesting minors and his excuse was “well i asked their ages and they said they were 18”.... even though he continued what he was doing after finding out she was 15, he also made moves on me knowing i was 13
