It’s really interesting, maybe more white people use makeup? There wouldn’t be so many brands only launching stuff in pigments that’s don’t work for you if that weren’t true, I would love to see the money aspect of this. It’s not racism it’s profits. Every single 50% off makeup is always darker skinned products at all my stores in Texas, Idaho, and California. I feel like dark skinned beauty’s have their favs and won’t budge. Would love to hear your opinion
@Its.Jessica. Жыл бұрын
@@lisalarsen2384 also one more thing. Everything below is anecdotal evidence so no studies to support this, but can be looked at via brand revenue. Over the last few years, there’s been an increase in not only black owned brands, but an increase in color inclusivity. Take Fenty beauty for example, when Fenty released their foundations they essentially took the cosmetic industry by storm due to the vast color range that they had. This large color range often said to be the reason that the brand is so successful. While Mac has been around for decades, even throughout their controversies, they have always been a leader in regards to shade selection. Which is why many black women still use Mac for their complexion products You can also see how brands that failed to increase their shade ranges also became less popular. Think bareMinerals and benefit cosmetics. Consumers of color have in recent years been showing that they are an important customer base in the beauty community. Additionally, and this is follow up to my previous comment. Black women and Hispanic women are by far in the minority in America, so obviously they will never be the majority of cosmetic revenue. This however, does not excuse cosmetic companies from creating limited shade ranges. All of these statistics and studies I have mentioned are all US based, but in many other countries, women of color make up the majority in both population and cosmetic spending, yet they still struggle to find cosmetic products.

I wouldn’t be surprised if all paints get removed, the black gets reformulated to make it a useable eyeliner (smaller packaging with a higher price as well) and he goes on selling normal products everyone already has in their collection.
