I think that James and Jeffree have a really different audience: Jeffree is more KZbin centric and has an older and more makeup focused audience in general Whereas James is more Tiktok focused, mainly consisting of Teens(he really shouldn't imp), who could really use a good daily palette So it's not surprising to me that the difference between their palette sales was so vast (Also wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if those numbers were fake 🤥🤡)

The lack of reviews for his liquid paint was because it’s a really bad product, peoples orders took FOREVER to arrive and when people finally got the product some had leaked or more or less “exploded” out of the packaging when opened! Someone in his team have to tell him to watch the clip of himself dragging that Morphe palette before trying to defend his lies, hearing and watching him backpedaling was embarrassing to everyone!

This launch turned out wayyyy better because the paint was for people trying to work with color, special character makeup, graphic eyeliner, crazy eyeshadow looks, but a lot of people don’t want that, they want an everyday pallet that they can use to highlight their inner corners, or contour their nose. They want an everyday pick up and use pallet and the paint just did not offer that. The lack of support I’m sure plays a role but the use of the paint launch was just not practical

Honestly him dropping a discount on a product he just released speaks volumes. You don’t discount an item unless it’s been on shelf for too long and you want to get rid of it, or know it’s not gonna sell well. Especially if this is a new product. 2:08 the colors in the palette weren’t ugly, there were just many colors that an everyday makeup wearer wouldn’t have a lot of use for, but that’s no different from any pallet that “stars” in the makeup or glam community put out. If the products were crappy and not made well, that’s an entirely different reason to hate it, but either way, why did he do the collaboration if it was so awful? The reason beauty reviewers are so popular, or at least the reason the used to be, is because people felt like they were getting real reviews from people like them versus being tricked by major corporations and fake commercials.
