i went to Jimmy's 1963-67 and loved it,,strict teachers but did us no end of good,taught us respect,i've a lot to thank them for,,,i wish i'd done so,but didn't,,,,,i loved that school....

My 2 brothers and I went to Jimmys it certainly was a education in so many ways great characters and teachers miss those days.

Walking aboot the southside nooadays you mostly never hear our local accent anymore in young folk. Most folk sound English noo.

It was a dump! A sewerage pipe of Edinburgh education. Luckily I managed to get to Darroch which was half decent. This was 1960. TG! I Ieft Edinburgh it was class ridden.

1986 ....I was part of this project and also the narrator on the film. It was great fun making it .

You and me both. Still remember one of my class mates from the slums nearby, who had the same clothes on for three years, winter and summer, rubber shoes in the snow and ice, and us all standing to attention while a Gestapo rat teacher made us all stand while my little friend stood and froze. I hope he got better treated in his life. Teachers were RATS. (1956-1960)
