What did it for me was the fact that this is in Russia. These people don't even speak English as their first language but the music still connected with them at a deep level. It doesn't really come across your mind (especially with what's been happening recently) that the west might as well be a completely diffeffernt world and I think we almost demonize Russia and China without realising that we are still all human and this kinda shows that even a man from England whos country is now supplying Ukraine with weaponry to kill russian men and defend their country can still connect with them. As a self taught bassist, I was fishing through my brain to try see what that would be for me. Two things that came to my mind were that instead of alternate plucking with my index and middle or my index middle ring I mostly alternate use my middle and ring and occasionally use my index for extra notes and/or triplets. This one is also pretty funny and I’m not sure if it counts but I also accidentally discovered the standard techniques for bass arpeggios by playing modified versions of a few crywank songs and weird fishes by Radiohead and watching no videos or knowing how people do it.
