Just finished watching Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special Finale...so glad the ending that every love story should be ❣️... I am a hopeless romantic and having spent Christmas alone this year...my husband died 28th December 2023 so this is my first Christmas with no one going nowhere made me cry happy and sad tears...I'm emotional that way!!😢.. Thank you James and Ruth and all your co stars made my Christmas along with repeats of Morecambe and Wise!!❣️

Bless you and so sorry for your loss, seems you found comfort and joy in watching it as I did too, wasn't it just wonderful and full of humor and energy.....Got to say, I think Pam is my favorite character such a bundle of energy to play that part! I haven't seen many of the Gavin & Stacey series episodes but I know enough of the story to absolutely love the finale. I'm currently grieving a much loved family member & this made me laugh & cry just when I needed to. Thank you to James & Ruth for a heartwarming & very welcome piece of tv. ❤

The best thing the BBC have done for us this year is not only bring us the finale of G&S but the whole story line from start to finish on the iplayer ffs! Dont know how long it will last though so I started binging last night just incase its taken down....and no, Im not a bot nor a PA for the beeb I just love it every time they give us something worth watching, it comforts those who are alone and puts a smile on faces and for that I am very grateful.

One of the cleverest aspects of G and S is that you assumed at the start that the story was about G and S and slowly we all realised that there was bigger story rumbling along slowly in the background between Smithy and Ness until the 2019 Christmas special left them on the edge of an emotional precipice, perfectly controlled by their adoring writers.

James and Ruth- I know its the end of G&S BUT if you two dont write anything else you will be wasted. What you did here with the finale is just genius, it flowed effortlessly with affection and humor in all the characters the fishing trip debacle was finely tuned and brilliantly delivered with us all knowing but not not needing to know with a nudge and a wink. And the Dave Coaches surprise at the end was just brilliant. Please write something else even if you have to tick the wokery box, you are good at doing it but not doing it, unlike the Outnumbered writers. I did notice a few woke lines in the G&S finale but it was so subtle and because of the lines and timing and delivery it went over peoples heads! Write more please! You obviously work well together just look at the reviews from the public, what you have given us is pure joy heart warming laughs and a need for something else. Really hope you two will write again because you certainly know what works and how to address things and avoid things within script Thank you so much you made a lot of people happy this Christmas. xxx 😉

@@essexgal2085 I Just think James is a really emotional guy, the success of G&S especially the overall comments and great reviews hes had has probably overwhelmed him on a greater level. I think its the best thing he has ever done even if he thought American talk show host was the greatest gift...G&S is the best because hes warmed up so many hearts with it and given a lot of comfort along the way. Both James and Ruth obviously cast crew and other members. I do think James is a natural Cryer though bless him. (yes we all know about the arrogant moments hes had but who hasnt had those?)

iLynnhubbard Yea noticed it too about James I do think he is genuinely an emotional guy though sometimes appears over the top and he displays it a lot in G&S quite naturally and it really works wonders...if he is faking it in interviews with the wrath of the whisper then he needs a genuine F word from his mate Gordon but I do think hes overwhelmed by the success of it all, he knows that he and Ruth have hit the jackpot with the finale.... I do hope James and Ruth will write again. xx
