He was the best and he should have won. After he lost I never watched American Idol again. The show is rigged. James Durbin, Crystal Bowersox, Katherine McPhee, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, David Archeleta. All of them should have won.

Jennifer is right. James has been consistent even though I didn't care for heavy metal it was one week for me and he had great performances to make up for that. He should've at least beated hayley. She was in the bottom multiple times and he was not in the bottom even once. Even Lauren was in the bottom at one time. Only James and Scotty were not in the bottom until James was eliminated. So James in my opinion should've been in the finale. I think even the judges were surprised he was voted out before hayley.

Brian Hagaman Haley and James, although Casey did some remarkable stuff too. Still, Idol isn't really a musical competition. It's a TV reality show exploiting singers for Idol's own agenda.
