I think what most people that were disappointed with the movie were unaware of, is that Spring Breakers was a Harmony Korine film. The trailer seemed like it tried to appeal to everyone as a slightly over the top spring break movie, those of us who were familiar with Harmony Korine's previous works were pretty stoked on the film and thoroughly entertained, largely because we had somewhat of an idea of what we were in for.
