I guess the actor didn't want to put in the effort to put on muscle to fit the character and the Director never told him he needed to. From what I understand MoS suit was padded but Henry Cavill bulked up for the movie, in fact the original suit had to be redone because he had bulked up so much.

In Psychology this is called a fundamental attribution error (FAE). Mr. Gunn and Mr. Corenswet are PRETENDING that the pushback is in regards to the tone of color and the addition of the classic red trunks. THEY ARE MISSING THE POINT. That is NOT the problem. The problem is at least 4 other things: 1) the emblem that IS NOT traditional. The Kingdom Come emblem actually divides the fanbase. People call it a minus sign or even a hot dog. Why divide your audience when the more classic emblem would solve that problem. 2) The suit is baggy and puffy. It looks like a small version of a space suit that is partially filled with compressed air, and it is too big/bulky for Mr. Corenswet's body. 3) The cape and neck area - the cape intersects with the suit in a very odd place, and the neck ...well... just look for yourself 4) the addition of lines and geometric shapes in the suit that are unnecessary. SO - They are attributing the pushback to trunks and colors but that is NOT the main issue. Thus, the fundamental attribution error (FAE).

The suit doesn’t need fake muscles, it just needs to be designed in a way to hug the muscles your actor does have. Regular spandex shoes a good amount of muscle but in some places it covers up definition, so just modify it so it looks more comic book accurate.

That's a downgrade from what Cavill had. His Superman suit didn't have pads. That was all his muscles. He trained in a military workout regime for 3 months or so, 6 days a week & had a bodybuilding diet. Maybe David is muscular enough, but a Superman suit should shows the curves of his muscles.

If it looks “way cooler” than it feels to wear than it must have been horrible and he would’ve asked the production to rethink the design. And really? Love the vid... This movie deserves to be torn down and checked because James Gunn and Warner executives specifically seem wrong/confused about the character when it comes to what they do and allow with the property in the end... My only hope for the film is that the final product is absolutely stacked with awesome stuff happening and a story that moves fast and hard as heck... For example: If the Kaiju-godzilla..and lex with Ultraman home-invading the fortress of solitude and destroying Clark's fortress robots/memories...is is all like in the first half for the film, and the second half is Superman smiling and coming back powerfully like the best of Goku in DBZ... Then maybe we have something... Otherwise we have a confused mess that can't deliver half the hype, if not fail even worse than some of the DCEU stuff did...
