people tend to not understand, that supergirl isn't clark kent, she was raised on krypton and is traumatised by its the destruction and losing her family more then superman who was a baby. Kara is actually a character who is a lot rougher and it isn't as trusting of people at first, so while we had the supergirl tv series, that wasn't typical supergirl, honestly sasha calle's supergirl was actually a little more closer and i think we are going to get that in Milly's interpretation

Supergirl's story is she is a teen who was in cryo sleep and landed on earth. She is strong because of the yellow sun but still a skinny teenager. Superman worked on his father's farm. He is a farmer and they are usually muscular. His muscles are because of him lifting heavy things all the time. The yellow sun helps him never lose it but he did take effort to get it in the first place. Wonder Woman off course is Amazonian warrior so she has to muscular.

I think James Gunn has been making some really great casting decisions. I'm confident these upcoming DCU films can be very good as long as he doesn't try to include too much humor, but I think he showed in the guardians of the galaxy films that he is capable of balancing humor and emotional story telling.

I admittedly haven’t seen house of the dragon or Game of Thrones, I know, as a fantasy fan I should check them out and I probably will particularly with house of the dragon as it’s a prequel I believe. However, it seems like Milly Alcock from what John said will be a fantastic supergirl, not just in physicality but, particularly with her introduction to the new DCU supposedly being a more dark and intense supergirl story with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Anyone who is a DC comics reader, even casually and has read that story knows what I’m talking about.

Personally I would’ve loved to have seen Isabel May who was in the Yellowstone prequel series 1883 which she’s amazing in but out of all those girls who it was down to im happy milly got it. And for a director I’d like to see Chloe Zhao do this one. Like this is really close artistic wise to what she was doing with Eternals, the art and character design, the suits, creatures, the action! The cinematography… it’s all so close to the look of the supergirl comic and I think that artistic eye she had for eternals would create a beautiful looking krypton and kryptonian world for this story

Depends on when they her ship getting to Earth. When they introduced the post-Crisis version, it was later in Superman's career and Dick Grayson was an adult and was Nightwing while Kara was 16.. In the current continuity, Kara landed on earth earlier and Dick was still Robin and in the original Teen Titans and he was the same age as Kara.

actually I thought Meg was going to get it because more people seemed to want her and thought of her to be more "pretty". She even voices Supergirl in the DCAU so that was another advantage in her favour. She also does look more like the Woman of Tomorrow Version of Supergirl, whereas Milly looks more like the teenage New 52 version of her. So to me the fact that Milly still got the role, who was personally my top choice since 6 months ago, means that she must have killed it in the screen tests and auditions.

I remember watching the first few eps of HoTD around the time Gunn announced the Supergirl movie,and after watching Millie on the show I was immediately like "holy shit she would be perfect as Supergirl." I even made a reddit post about it lol,so it's surreal to think she actually got it because no one else was talking about her for the role. Anyways,another small victory for DC fans.
