Actually james harden lost mvp to curry because he was a viral meme for his awful defense lol , and westbrook didnt just '' have better stats '' he had historic stats numbers not put up in nba history , numbers in the clutch not put up by anyone in 20 years . westbrook was statistically the clutchest player in the nba this year , he had the highest PER in the 4th quarter previously held by lebron in 2008-2009 russ also has the most clutch time makes , pts , PER , +- in the past 20 years with a PER in clutch time of 52.4 highest in nba history since jordan in 1997 finals russ also shoots 45% in clutch time (t2 in the nba on minimum 100 attempts )and he shoots his highest percentage in the 4th , russ also shoots 49.6% in the final 3min of a game only 2nd behind lebron who shoots 52% in final 3min , westbrook is also t4 in assist and t2 in steals in clutch time

(Better is in quotations because he had 2 more rebounds...I don't know if you watched this Thunder season or not but those rebounds are for sure padded if nothing else. JayOw Uchiha I'm a huge Thunder fan. The only reason I know about Harden is because of how much I loved him on OKC. I watch their games regularly. I'm not trying to hate on Westbrook, because I genuinely love watching him play. All that being said, it's not BS in the slightest. He's athletic for sure, but that doesn't excuse the fact that his teammates literally got out of way if it was an open rebound. His stats are padded. Taking 50 shots a game, throwing the ball all over the floor giving turnovers for the chance at an assist, and getting free rebounds looks amazing on paper. It's not effective in reality which is why they got swept in the playoffs. Westbrook carried his team to the playoffs, no doubt about it. But so did Harden. It's a misconception that his team is significantly worse than the Rockets. ESPN even showed an entire spreadsheet of effectiveness of each team in comparison, and the Thunder were leading in a lot of categories. Like I said, Harden should have won it in 2015 and this year as well. But the narrative is more exciting giving it to Westbrook.

Are you sure? If you are a fan you know that we need him to get those rebounds to go on a fastbreak since they are not a good half court team especially if russ goes to the bench you know that. And do you know what stat pad means? His stats are amazing but they are winning as well. He does his best to help his team win. Not to mention that Harden has more TO's than russ when harden has shooters while russ has none. And he is not shooting 50 shots anymore, He is more controlled than before he has improved, and ofc he will hav a high TO rate but that's expected since no one else can create their own shots. As a fan you should know all of that. And yea OKCs' team is not really a fit for westbrook while harden does, when harden goes to the bench its either they increase or maintain the lead and barely lose it while when Russ goes to the bench? You know what happens which is the REAL reason why they ALMOST got swept. Westbrook deserved it more this yr, Harden deserved it more in 2015

Yeah, I there's a pretty big discrepancy in their team's talent. You're underestimating Westbrook's leadership capacity. 47 wins compared to 55 wins is negligible when taking into account their rosters. Harden is a Dantoni system product, and has snipers all over the court as well as two shot creating, sixth man of the year candidates both capable of averaging 20. Westbrook's sidekick, his "Robin" Oladipo, averaged 10 PPG against the Rockets in their playoffs matchup.
