I think Harden was saying that he wasn't blessed with a physique that allows him to dominate in a fundamental way...so he places value on the skills that he's developed to be offensive force that he is on the court. Giannis is not the same player that he was last year. He developed his game, adding a somewhat reliable midrange and his free throws percentage has dramatically improved in the series versus the Suns. Even still, much of Giannis' offensive production came from his physicality in the post. Much like Shaquille O'Neal...except Giannis has more tools now.

Harden is right on the skill part. Whether to agree on this statement, it depends on how u define skill. From my perspective, when comparing one single aspect, you need to unitise all other aspects such as height, weight, athleticism, wing span etc. So one question to ask is will Giannis still be as dominant if he only has a body of harden or a regular NBA player? If no, then I think harden is right on the skill part. Ofcoz some might think one is a guard, and one is a big man. But it is more of the same story, you can further split this comparison by position, but when you say who are the skilled big men, I think of Tim Duncan and the dream. However, this is basketball, body ball is part of the game. If his athleticism brings him effectiveness in the game, then he is still a great basketball player. After all, I personally enjoy watching skills over body ball. People say Giannis can pass and dribble and shit so he has skills, but u gotta think, were they were induced by his great athleticism?

I'm a fan of both Harden and Giannes, but to say Giannes doesn't have skill is BS. Yes he's tall and athletic, but knowing how to use your height and athleticism to your advantage is a skill in and of itself. There are plenty of players that are tall and athletic that can't play for shit. When I was younger I didn't really work on my skills like ball handling and shooting, etc. I would just go out and play 1v1, 3v3, 5v5, etc. But I knew how to use my height and athleticism to outplay people that were even taller than me. It also doesn't take skill to crossover, make iso plays, play through double teams sometimes triple teams from half court, hit step back 3s, make clutch plays, make his team mates like capela stars and essentially revolutionize the game with step backs as seen in even Luka's game. His defense has improved too. Sure he is a little animated and makes questionable plays, but you cannot discount the fact that he is the first player since wilt to average 36 pts per game

He is right on the skill part. Many guys get a free spot on the roster if they are 6’9 and above. Especially overseas. If Giannis did not have his size and were about 6’5 like James he would not be in the league for sure
