Torjus it is very very difficult when you're playing a complex riff and sing at the same time... That's why James is the king of heavy riffs. Dave mustaine sings and does that hard riff at the same time. The riff of Tornado of souls... That's insane! Brian setzer plays some complex tricky stuff while singing as well! It's all practice and also natural talent.

I agree. It just suffers from pretty bad production. It sounds like someone turned the bass all the way down (not the instrument) and the treble all the way up. It sounds so damn clangy for lack of a better word. And James' vocals sound quite loud. Its a step up from st anger production wise, but I just don't understand why they didn't take time to get a nice sound to it.
@Christopher-md7tf2 жыл бұрын
@@excuse.me.sir. DM does have comparatively little energy in the low-end and A LOT of high mids. And those especially don't gel well with the main issue of the record's production, namely that it was compressed to total shit and back, which means those high mids (and highs) are clipping all over the place and the whole record lacks any real punch and is really exhausting to listen to.

Regardless of Metallica's importance and place in music, it is obvious when held under scrutiny that James is the talent of that band and is in company of a lead guitar player and drummer that do not measure up to their contemporaries. Imagine his potential without them.
