James you are awesome. I was fortunate enough to attend one of your workshops at the Southern California Ukulele festival several years ago. I took a pic of you with Victoria Vox. I am especially fond of somgsyou play with your Beautiful wife. You are so fun to watch together. Love ukulele jazz.

It's a classroom setting I take it; there might have been some ambivalence about applauding what is essentially a lesson. Personally, I ask my students not to clap when I am teaching them something through demonstration. They do not clap for their meal in the cafeteria, or when the custodian cleans up their messes, or when they do well in a math lesson, etc. I want what I do to be viewed in the same way.

Thank you so much for keeping with traditional ukulele playing style while you went arrange this. Apart from the entire song, the ending was spot on with not only jazz, but Hawaiian music. ***** The idea of God has been attributed for thousands of years. But as things become more explainable, the need for god disappears. For example, Newton, as brilliant as he was couldn't explain certain celestial mechanics, and so he attributed what he couldn't explain to the presence of a god. Yet, later the presence of other celestial bodies, and their effect on the "gravity collective" of our part of space eliminated "gods" role in that. And, that has happened an infinite amount of times. God is a great idea, but an idea created by man to give meaning to it all, and to explain what our minds lack the understanding of. And I say that with all due respect in your beliefs.
@Callmerayyyyyyy10 жыл бұрын
S Walton with all respect to you as well, I have a relationship with Jesus Christ. You and your words, or any unbelievers words will never take me away from Him. He is our Lord and Saviour. Point. Blank. Period. "The fool hath said in his heart there is no God." Psalm 14:1

@davetraintrain10 жыл бұрын
Michael Melnyk Umm... no it's not. Aside from the fact that the bass notes don't match what he's doing with his fingers on the lowest string on the ukulele, there's no way for ukulele strings to produce notes that low.

@joerivera842810 жыл бұрын
Michael Melnyk No, it's not. There's a bass player on this. Watch between 2:32 and 2:36. The bass doesn't match James' hand movements at all. And yeah, Luigi was right, it's impossible for something that small to produce bass tones that deep.

As a young musician I'm interested... What's your preferred perspective? Seeing older folks who you looked up to or seeing younger artists doing different things and learning from them?
