“The spirit of evil is the negation of the life force by fear. Only boldness can deliver us from fear. If the risk is not taken, the meaning of life is violated.” - C.G. Jung, from Symbols of Transformation

7:48 Pay attention to what's going on inside of you (it's full of clues) 8:05 Our troubles stem because we get separated from our instincts 8:33 We get separated from the voice within 9:08 Why are we here? In service to what? 10:05 Many of us deaden the voice within us 10:12 Each of us has guidance within us (feelings, energy, dreams, meaning) 10:24 When we're in alignment with our inner life we have a sense of well-being and empowerment 11:20 Discern what your nature is calling you to 12:05 Submit to the summons of your identity 13:17 Our biggest shadow issue is we live too small a life (we're defined by fears, defenses, need to fit in) 14:08 Did we step into the fullness of our journey? 14:20 We get caught/stuck in our adaptations 14:46 We learn that aspects of ourselves are not safe to express, in order to fit in 15:13 What is it that I'm not addressing? Where do I need to show up more authentically? 16:28 What is wanting to enter the world through me? 17:34 We have to rebel against our limitations 18:22 Depression is a way of showing disapproval for where we're investing energy and choices 21:55 How do I grow and expand? 23:45 What is possible for you? Your capacity, talent, calling? 24:34 What is wanting expression through you? 26:16 Be more fully yourself 28:53 Destiny is seeking expression through us. Step into your calling, growth, and development 29:11 Be more authentic, when choices come from your reality 30:56 Why would you stop something that is seeking to come through you? 31:48 Obstacles are our self-image and fear 32:16 "The spirit of evil is negation of life-force by fear. Only boldness can deliver us. If risk is not taken, the meaning of life is violated." 35:24 The unconscious has mixed motives and complexes with rules/beliefs 40:36 Mortality makes our choices matter 41:34 Why are you here? In service to what? 43:15 We have to experiment and see if it lines up with us. Your feelings/energy will support it 47:25 I knew inwardly what was more compelling to me 48:34 The psyche engineered me to return to the thing I needed to address 48:50 We impose lack of permission on ourselves 49:48 Push through your fears to where you need to go 50:08 Distraction, avoidance, narcosis is what popular culture offers us 50:48 People search for someone who will understand them, take care of them, fix things, and help them avoid growing up 52:45 People are not who we project them to be. Projections will collapse 53:39 Our partners should oblige us to grow and learn 54:33 There should be reciprocity in relationships 54:46 We should not expect things from people that are not part of their nature or capacities 58:32 When you make a choice, ask yourself where is this coming from? What has been triggered or what is it in service to? Is it a codependence? A need for approval? 59:42 Our actions should be generated from our core (true selves) 1:00:02 We're often told what our values are supposed to be 1:00:42 What was once useful you may have outgrown and may no longer be effective

message for Dr Hollis: In your book Finding meaning in the second half of life, page 31, you quote Kierkegaard: my understaning is the quote is actually: Life can only be understood backwards but it must be lived forwards.

Study Buddhism or Hinduism. People may be able to find further meaning there. Such psychoanalysis can help people better understand Buddhism, but the doesn't seem to give much clue to the ultimate meaning of life.
