Now show us the tee shirts, JJ. And whatever story is behind each one. I'm a 74 y.o. cancer survivor, the surgery and post-op treatment happened many years ago, so I sort of know your thoughts right now. Dad died from colon cancer, and I get regular camera work done. It was when I took up playing again a few years ago, looking for instruction for Lowell George's "Willin," that I discovered you. You've been my inspiration ever since.

Hey JJ first of all sorry, English it's not my language, but I feel like I had to leave you a comment. You have been a huge inspiration to me, since the PT channel (when I barely knew how to do a C chord) and you have taught me so much about the guitar or even mandolin. I think about how great and important was for me to found your channel since now I am 21 y/o and starting uni to become a music teacher. So Thank you, hope you feel better and get well soon. Happy Christmas to you and your family.

You have a great wife, any women who allows her partner to have that many great guitars is a blessing. Keep all your guitars because you do great things with them. It is great to see you on the mend. Take your time recovering, we look forward to your return; we will go back to all your old videos until your back.

JJ you’ve helped me climb many a hill since I found your channel. I’m 65 and started playing at 16, I quit in my mid to late 20s for many years after the kids came along but a few years before the nest became empty I started back up and I found you on KZbin quite sometime ago when you were under another name and you were playing all the old songs that I knew from my youth you. I’ve been playing everyday since and I have to give you much of the credit for instilling that fire in me again. I wish you much peace, love and good health for many years to come to you and yours! Keep picking my brother! Oh! When I decided to start playing again I went on a guitar binge and added to my two old bangers I had since my teen years, I need to get my wife to watch your video of your collection!

My first electric was aPeavy Patriot back in the 80s. I have a Strat and had one in high school (maybe even middle school). And I’ve got a 335 very similar with an interesting provenance. My FIL loves music and music festivals. He went to a blues festival. Had food and a beer or two. Fell asleep in the grass listening to music. Awoke to his name being called. His ticket had won a raffle. A nice 1980s Gibson ES 335!! I’m the only son in law (his son doesn’t play either) who plays guitar. So I got ‘stewardship’ (I guess you’d call it) of the guitar. I don’t feel I own it, though he did give it to me. None of my 4 boys play, so no idea where it will go. Perhaps I will have grandchildren who will play. Thanks for the great video. I learned all kinds of stuff about guitars from it! Never heard of some of those! Be well, and have fun!

Hey James, Ive loved and benefited from your lessons. I never expected though I’d be saying thank you for inspiring me to do something for my health. Yet you have. I made my consult and procedure appointments for Jan 9th and 16th respectively. I think we all hope to inspire at least one person on this planet to do something positive. My message to you is that you have. Thank you friend, and best wishes for continued improvement on your health. From my family to yours, thank you and best wishes for this holiday season and many many more to come. Charlie

Fantastic JJ, love the update and of course the fact you are heeling well. My collection numbers 9. Blonde Gibson L6 1974 with a humbucker I added when I was 16 (my first love named “Brenda” for the same reason), 1982 Yamaha J 200 nock off. Great action and very playable but not great sounding. Never learned to play very well and stopped for several years but picked them back up again in 1999. Played solid for a year and decided to get my hearts desire for my 40th, Gibson LP Custom Black Beauty (“Leslie”), 2003 American Standard Black & white rosewood fret board Strat (“Sarah”). For our 30th (2012) the wife got the bling and she let me pick out 3. First choice...? Maple J200😂 (“Marilyn”, big buxom blonde😁). Not just because of you but I remember my very pretty grade 2 teacher playing us songs on a big beautiful blonde acoustic. 2nd ES355 BB King Lucille (Love BB). 3rd was the plain mahogany Martin 00M15 ( “Coco”, because the smell of mahogany reminds me of coco and her beautiful dark brownish red mat finish. 2014 finally got a tele(“Kelly). Blonde Keef reissue with the full humbucker neck pick up and my first maple fret board. This year “Rose” finally arrived. Ordered her in June 2017 and she arrived in Oct. Guild 512e rosewood back and sides. I was very worried because after I ordered it I learned about the financial and manufacturing problems Guild had over the last decade plus (manufacturing plants and locations look like a CSI map lol) but once I got it I was thrilled. Can’t tell you how much you have done for me and my playing. Hope you have a great holiday with family and friends and continue to heal up. Cheers!
