Ali has classic codependency issues (I know because I have the same issues). At her first reunion where they talked about James drinking she said “we both stay off the alcohol and help each other” SCREAMED red flags. That’s her feeling compelled to fix him by tying his sobriety to herself. Therefore, she a) gains self esteem when he stays sober, and b) if/when he fails to stay sober, it will be her fault, not his (in her, and possibly his, mind. We on the outside know that’s not true) Girl, get yourself to Al Annon and sort out your codependency issues. You will NEVER have a healthy relationship until you do. It can even fuck up your friendships; the wrong people with find you and suck you dry.

Thank you, Zack. As a victim of DV aka Intimate Partner Violence in CA, I greatly appreciate your knowledgeable support of DV and that authorities do not arrest without more than valid evidence during the call response because the range of DV is far more than what media depicts it to be on screen. I only hope that with media attention, a licensed professional with offer free services to Aly to inform her of the cycle of abuse. I know personally that it does not get better and denial and shame make it very difficult to protect oneself while still being in the relationship. I also hope James seeks professional help to get to the root of his behavior because these are often caused by learned behaviors or their own trauma. Also, this is not about addiction. There is zero excuse for abuse. We should not make excuses for any form of DV (verbal/ emotional/ financial/ psychological/ physical). Celebrity should not protect an abuser and I hope the media begins to see the seriousness of DV. Especially after this year marks an important anniversary of one of the most infamous DV cases, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. That is DV that started small and ended in the most horrific outcome while protecting a celebrity abuser.

He will be on bond. Usually there’s a no contact order with the victim- until at least the first court hearing, where the judge can remove if he wants. And once u commit the act- the state usually takes over and presses charges whether or not she wants to. And they could subpoena her to appear if she tries to blow off.

dealing in Family Law, Lawyer, many victims of Domestic Violence will return to the Abuser many times, before actually leaving that particular situation, which at times do lead to even death in that particular situation. There are many forms of DV, verbal abuse, emotional abuse. Alcohol is absolutely no excuse for any form of abuse...Ally just needs to understand that the abuse will not stop.. James has problems from being raised in an unstable family and unstable home situation, too. Add to that the weirdness of Hellyweird at a young age, and using substances to cope... I don't think that he's a bad person, but he's not getting help that he needs. It's one thing to be this way with a woman who chooses to deal with it, but if he is ever going to have children, then he needs to get that help. He needs to grow up and face himself and his issues, but since he's not going into prison, a gang, or the military, that's probably not going to happen. He's no different than a lot of people, just more able to put off facing up to life and himself than most. BTW, The page from the cops is called an arrest sheet, or the blotter if you're old school. It could've been done playfully for all we know. The cops don't write down everything word for word in my experience unfortunately for me when I was the victim of DV by someone who's Father was a known and liked police officer! I'm wishfully thinking and I truly hope Ally is really OK and not hiding stuff. I know she has friends she can stay with so why is she there ? She's stayed elsewhere before due to his drinking. I hope this was due to a relapse in drinking because that's where my mind went to with the loss of VPR perhaps he fell off the wagon and was trying to be playful but was rough.
