Yummy. Omg that Flugelhorn - brilliant gentle mellow warm tone. Most trumpeters just attack this song and it ends up just being too harsh. This is like a lullaby. Beautiful artistry and just a master class in the “less is more” philosophy.

@@dq7143 I am pretty sure James Last adjusted this piece of music to Derek skills... He was not the composer. But he knew, what his musicians loved to play and they loved to show their skills. Also, I believe you need to have a certain age to appreciate this music. I was 21 when this concert took place, and back then I was still playing music by myself, but also had a number of changes in my life. I didn't really pay attention to this kind of music. Nowadays I do.

Yes, this is in the form of a music video for televising purposes, but he did record this all in one take, if I'm not mistaken, so just as impressive! But no, he was not playing where you see him miming.
