Tiresome to some which is their choice, right & feelings. To many others who appreciate music, talented entertaining musicians & performers who write nice, catchy songs and have done for over 40yrs now, which so many bands don’t get anywhere near still being together & playing so long. Yeh it’s not everyone’s bag which is cool by me cos music & life would be totally fuckin boring if we all liked the same things. I’d like to congratulate them on having such a long, entertaining, successful career and thank them for giving myself and no doubt so many others a life time of songs that I love that have influenced my own personal music career, songwriting,performing giving inspiration & songwriting tools to be creative writing songs with lots of emotion, feeling & power.

The smiths & James for me definitely two of Manchester’s best bands, The being so young writing so many classic songs in a 5yr period. James on the other hand have evolved, grown & improved over 40yrs giving a lifetime of great songs, live performances, pleasure & happiness and still doing it now successfully and well. One reason why I love my home city of Manchester where I’ve lived all my life for it’s great music culture & scene.

True musicianship at it's finest. This band knows how to play extremely well, no false glitz or glamor... just fantastic music. Always puts a smile on the face of my wife and I. We saw them a few years ago at an outdoor music festival in Scotland (we live in Canada). Absolutely fantastic day!!!!

The consistency of this band is mind=blowing. A constant stream of amazing songs and albums. I've probably heard 10%. Beautiful Beaches is another instant classic. From today I am going to listen in full to every James album, even the ones I know well. I'm gonna give each one a whole week.

One of the very best bands of all time - amazing tracks since the mid 80s - pure class. Saw em live for the FIRST time in December - oh my god - what a show. Love em - the one thing that rankles me is that sadly - as anthemic as it is, 'Sit Down' will always be what they are remembered for in Britain despite both a back and post catalogue that eclipses that one song by miles in my opinion. Uh-oh - reg'd in my step daughters name. How'd that happen?
