I'm only 20 (I hope that's still young in terms of Christian marriages) and I do know I have a lot to work on but I would really like to someday have a wife and children; the only other thing stopping me besides sins making me unworthy (and lack of charm probably lol) is the fear that either they, or God forbid, I, will make a poor decision for no good reason and put a great amount of unnecessary strain on the marriage or even break it entirely

Bishop Thomas Paprocki in Springfield Illinois is a great resource for Catholic Teaching about People Attracted to Same Sex. There is not one person who comes to the Catholic Church that does not face a hurdle. Every hurdle is important. One hurdle is not more important than another. To the Men who think the Catholic Church needs to change. You have to find a Priest that can teach you the truth. Chastiity is not unbearable it is a gift. It can bear much fruit. But in time, alot of time spent with Jesus, I realized my Marriage is more Sacred more now than ever. Listening to this guy is like listening to death. Since I joined the church through RCIA, I've been harassed by two priests for sex. One of them ostracized me after I told him to get away from me. I've seen the predominantly same sex pedophile scandal ruin the Church. Now I'm seeing archbishops who raped seminarians moving into the inner circle of the Vatican. To my eyes, the predominantly gay priesthood has killed the church. I've quit it completely. The last time I went to church, a young priest sat very closely next to a little kid after the kid's dad went into the vestibule. When dad came back, he asked the priest to move, and deliberately sat between his child and the priest. I realized then that a priesthood imbued with issues of deviant sexuality was destined for the destruction of anything that is good.

Have you noticed how father Martin does not use the scriptures to support his personal notion that homosexuality is a "God given" quality? He is always referencing other priests that think like him. The term "INTRINSICALLY DISORDERED" may be difficult to hear but the TRUTH is what sets you FREE. When Jesus forgave Mary Magdalene He didn't do it because adultery is "OK" in HIS eyes. He was merciful towards her but He was also TRUTHFUL in pointing out she was a SINNER that needed to CHANGE HER WAYS.

What is the right response to the line of argument that the Old Testament contains moral and judicial practices that we no longer abide by and consider abhorrent? Why are the injunctions against homosexual sex acts justifiable theologically while the other "outdated" laws/customs are considered irrelevant? Someone please help me articulate this. The video didn't address it.

Every sexual identity, without exception, is a radical reduction of one's true identity, which is always a gestalt configuration. A homosexual, a heterosexual and every other reductive sexual identity is a stuffing of one's gestalt being into a particular, and why in the end EVERY sexual identity is suffocating, no matter how much sexual titillation one engages in to deny it. Hugh Hefner became an archetype of Heterosexual Man, having fulfilled that identity more than any other person I can think of. Yet an examination of what his life amounted to in the end would be seen as suffocating his gestalt self, never becoming who he really was.

“father” James Martin, what was Sodom and Gomorrah all about, and why the punishment God meted out to it? Or is that too not in your Bible? You are manipulating for your convenience and pleasure the truth and commandments of God. Well God has allowed some to suffer same sex attraction . But he never leaves us orphaned . So in return for this pain and struggle he offers each gay person a spiritual life that is fuller and real . "The spirit is life the flesh has nothing to offer ". So a gay person keeping Gods law and living their life in the spirit and turning from this world to the next as a celibate is pleasing to God.
