The sexual perversion in the catholic church is rampant. I spoke out against sexual perversion in my knights of columbus meeting and got big push back. No one wanted to hear it and the pastor that was a knight, let me hang out to dry. Sad to say I quit the knights. I am not going to go to meetings and having grown men who are catholic tell dirty jokes and laugh about porn movies. I WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN.

I think the gay people in the catholic chuch that choose not to engage in gay relations, are the very people that could bring the virtue of celibacy back to the catholic chuch. After all who could argue with a gay person who promotes celibacy. I am single and I am not gay but celibate. It is a great blessing from God, because I feel free. It is an amazing grace God grants to straight or gay that practice celebacy. If you are not married and become sexually perverted, you become chained by satan and your life is miserable. If you ask God to free you from the sexual sins, and receive the sacraments frequently, God will transform you. He will give you His power to change. I know because I changed with Gods grace. God is very very gracious. You just need to try and lean on Him and He will help you. My favorite prayer is " The God of Power has given me His strength. He has kept me in the way of Holiness and He has given Me His strength."

Out of curiosity for the Catholic faithful -- would you prefer we, the laity, just engage in permanent self-flagellation to help everyone else feel sanctimonious about clerical abuse they didn't experience themselves? We the laity were victims, not non-Catholics. We've worn our sackcloths, recompense to victims offered, JPII met with victims, Benedict XVI met with victims, Francis met with victims, Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors releases a report annually now, all churches have a hotline, protocols are now in place for incorporating secular authorities to investigate accusations from the beginning, most churches offer workshops to parents and the seminary schools now are more stringent on applicants to avoid homosexual pedestry. The scandals of the 20th century were horrible and extremely demotivating. Giving up on being Catholic isn't an option for us, so we have to lead the change and inspire hope in the next generation of leaders. Seriously - what do you want us to do? What additional measures would you like instituted? What's the threshold for humiliation that you think is satisfactory before we can pivot to trying to rebuild a demotivated flock? We have 1.4 billion adherents. They must have a vision of hope for the future. So we can either focus on making that vision happen, or we can continue to self-flagellate in perpetuity to make atheists on Reddit happy.

Most people are sheep. They will not go against the group even if the group goes against their personal morals. Research shows women do this. I am one of the few who does not want to be part of a group or scene. So I say it how I see it. Get people 1:1 and speak to them 1:1. See if that moves people away from the herd 💜

Anyone who objects to this should be asked, "do you think the Church is an institution?" I would not say that they use the Eucharist as a weapon as much as a fear-driven narrative related to what they might define as salvation. Non-affiliation with the Pope's church results in loss of salvation according to them. A part of me agrees with the statement that priests are socially awkward. When my sister had marriage trouble, she went to see a priest, and he couldn't help her, he just sat there and listened without saying anything. Then during the Covid Pandemic, there was a Latin mass priest who said that wearing the mask is preparing to receive the mark of the beast, and that the vaccine is demonic. He died a few months later from Covid.

Speaking as a boomer, it was strictly omerta at the two Catholic schools I attended (as a fatherless non-Catholic.) I am reminded here of another prominent situation. It seemed that almost all the KZbin comments afterward implored that he be "prayed for;" reassuring him that he had the support of his followers. In fact his mood swings were severe. It was something very like emotional and verbal abuse that kept his staff on edge. (I recalled the principal and priest at my high school who publicly lost his temper with me.) Of course in both situations "everybody knew." But this situation here is heartbreaking. Believe me, I empathize. A RECOMMENDATION: I recently watched The Verdict for a second time. The film starred Paul Newman, Jack Warden, and James Mason with an incredible script by David Mamet.

I recall homilies during Catholic vocations drives and priests saying Same Sex Attraction was a calling to become "holy". No joke. In the early 80s they were straight up marketing the priesthood to sexually confused Adolescent Catholic boys.

Catholic laity are like the spouse being cheating on whoknows it, but won't deal with it until it's literally butt-naked in their face, and even then they find it easier to just keep going along with the relationship. There are many people like this.

Thanks! That's a rugged journey. The fact that his writings became popular in Orthodox Europe during the end of Communism really says something. They found him to be an authentic voice. I love that we have recordings of him speaking. His voice has a comforting, medicinal quality, with a regional California accent. A gift from God, to America and the world.
