James May, Oz Clarke and Bruichladdich...3 of my favorite things in one video. Perfect!

good description by James at about the 10 minute mark. I relish that fleeting experience of euphoria when I taste a good whisky.

I was a foundryman for ten years doing mostly aluminum and Zinc, some brass and bronze in a small foundry so I can appreciate the engineering it takes to make a pattern and cast a good piece.

Its just good to see machines that men built that do actual things. Do you think anyone will look back 100 years from now at an iPhone, laptop, or amazon junk and say; "man, that's inspiring"? Nope, but when they walk into this place, yes.
@sekhmet77742 жыл бұрын
Why not? You just don't think so because it's not from your time, the speed at which computers have been advanced and miniaturised is staggering. People will be saying the exact same as what you're saying in 100 years about the new inventions then.

On using Whisky as a motor fuel. Distilled alcohol @ 95% or better is used fairly often in the US Trucking Industry as a Diesel Fuel additive to remove water from the diesel fuel and help keep it from gelling in cold weather.

James, I so enjoyed your "eulogie" of the X4 experience, you have enticed me to follow in your footsteps and take this challenge! PS as a fellow aviator, I thought I would mention we are flying in with a Saratoga (Cleared for night ifr) Remember the old Eurostar race episode complete with 633 Squadron music? But the X4 is our target, please let it be at least as exciting as your wonderful analogy of dark places and pandora's box!

I saw something where Jim McEwan was talking about 4 times distilled whisky, its probably some of that - apparently 2 spoonful and you go blind, 3 spoons and you drop dead...
