Yes, he is attractive, but that is not the main reason why I love watching him in his work. Their are plenty of physically attractive male actors out there that do not interest me to watch because they are terrible at acting and are horrible in real life. Thankfully James is not one of them. He is an amazing talent as a performer. He is also very funny in his interviews. Not sure why most USA people say they don't understand his accent. I'm from the USA and I understand him just fine. :-)

I'm American, and I also heard his Scottish accent a couple times in this movie, although otherwise I think it was very good, not exaggerated. But in Penelope I thought his American accent was absolutely perfect. I had no idea he was Scottish. Plus he does so many accents in other movies. He's really talented.

Just watched this movie and I'm pretty sure that his real accent slipped up here and there during the entire movie. Not that I'm complaining though. (In his defense, it's not that apparent. It's mostly only during the scene where it requires him to shout or be angry and such.) The fate of the loom part is a bit absurd for me personally, but overall I still loved every minute of this movie. McAvoy was fantastic in it and so was Angeline Jolie.

I'm American, and I may be a bit biased since I adore him, but I thought his accent was very accurate. Every state has a different accent, and his is very accurate for the East coast. His accent slipped briefly only a couple of times from what I could tell, yes, but considering how THICK is Scottish brogue is naturally, I'm not going to complain.

And I wasn't all THAT wild about this particular flick. I can say it was a decent movie but...a little more beyond the pale than I would normally nod at. For anyone reading this, I do highly recommend, "Trance" - another McAvoy film. AND he gets to speak with his Scottish brogue in that one, so added bonus to those of us who love non-American accents!
