I work in a school where the largest religion is no religion.

I think the majority probably had no strong Christian affiliation, just now people are far more comfortable in actually admitting it. Not being religious was for a long time taboo now its not, just like being a couple who are not married used to be.

Christianity was always a default to enter into surveys since there was no option for atheist. Of course it causes an apparent change when over the years more of us have been able to check the atheist box.

To be honest there’s a decline of people having faith in religion overall, not just Christianity

I remember in the 2011 census my dad put us all as "church of England" because "that's just whay you do" none of us are religious!

When I was young we had 1 Vicar per Church of England Church. The Church in my village was almost always packed. Vicars were someone who could be approached for advice etc and were often seen walking around the village. At some point, this changed the old church has been sold off and they built a smaller one instead, about a 3rd of its size. The Vicar is now responsible for multiple churches, not just the one in the village. Vicars don't have time to do all the other stuff. Vicarages have also been sold off and turned into nursing homes etc.

Most Christians I know are either African or Filipino. I do work in the care industry, but without immigration I think Christianity would be in a much "worse" place.

I think that many folk are also beginning to realise that church dogma doesn't even represent the teachings of Jesus

I was born in the 90's and the vast majority of people of my cohort, have never been christians. Most of our parents weren't either, but they'd still say they were on the census, for traditions sake.

The Roman Catholic church haven't helped, and to be honest this government are also making a mockery of christianity. I have an honours degree in Biblical studies but haven't attended a church in a very long time. I was very disillusioned long before doing my degree though and have no problem with the church losing members. In fact I'd like to see a lot of organised religion go the same way.

Churches round my area: One is used as a covid vaccination centre, another for a childs nursery, and another used as a food bank. One of them I've only seen having its main big oak front door open once this year

I didn’t always agree with some of your shows, but with this one : on the latest census results produced today, I’m in complete agreement with you. Some of the loudest voices saying Christianity is at risk of being overtaken by other faiths in this country have to front up and start going to church every Sunday. Then they can hold the moral high ground of saying they at least are being true to their faith.
