@armonpajouheshnia48373 жыл бұрын
James O'Brien is fantastic as always. But nothing changes. I will say that again, " Nothing Changes." The pandemic was a wonderful lesson in my life. One thing that is so true about England. The majority of English people love tolerating and basking in apathy. They don't do revolution, I repeat, they don't do resistance. And resistance does not have to be violent! Leave resistance to the French and the Scots. You can't cure wilful ignorance. The majority of Conservative voters that have no heart or empathy for all the people that have suffered in the pandemic. I know that because I have been able to speak to thousands on Facebook over the last 2 1/2 years. Born here, in England, I am mixed race and now in 2021, what do I have to be proud about? I am so ashamed to still live in England and I look forward to leaving, in the near future. I learned a lot in the last 2 1/2 years and I have reached the point where I don't care any longer. Its the intelligent, caring minority of people that would act, they would revolt, vs the majority that believe all the lies and forget how to care. I have learned that I live in the wrong nation for caring, my passion is better served in the future and not in England.

@@nickedwards2904 I would disagree, James himself has a clip wherein he talks about survey data and how that has drastically changed within the last 10 years. Blair was out of office by 2007. The anti-eu sentiment was crafted by fear mongering right wingers, who see that as the easy ticket to whip up voters. On the more extreme end, we've seen America and their wall with Mexico. Even on our own, Priti Patel with the borders bill, selling her own parents out for a crumb of right wing clout. To bring it back into focus, you're very focused on a rather minor cog in the wheel that is Brexit.
@poox83623 жыл бұрын
@@mohammedsaleh7 I have to agree. Besides the endless lies Farage, Johnson et al were telling about the EU, in 2010 when the Tories got back into power almost the entire country was not focussing on so-called EU problems. Even immigration was not an issue for the majority. The Tories fed these issues, but the referendum was not held because the population demanded it. Cameron went with the referendum to keep his party together. There has always been anti-EU and anti-foreigner sentiment in UK, along with English exceptionalism, but it was always the fringe of society. Blair had nothing to do with Brexit. But he did take us into an illegal war by following the US government.

@Michelle Thompson - I totally agree with your comment. All negative comments on this video are from folks who have clearly never listened to James on a regular basis. He uses logic, empathy and basic facts to explore the issues we need to be talking about. He's one of the best broadcasters we've got here in the UK. I have no idea how he does what he does for 15 hours every week. I'm glad he's gained a wider audience through clips uploaded on KZbin. Both his books are great reads and show James's ability to shed light on issues in a fair and balanced manner. He's also one of the only presenters on LBC who is willing to have his mind changed by callers who can make a convincing argument. I'd love to see him back on BBC Newsnight or as a regular panelist on BBC's QT.

@@advorak8529 I am a die hard green leftist but I often disagree with JoB. James is a normal human being who makes mistakes too but you people all carry him on a pedestal and it's all going to his head. The way he talks to people on his show is just nasty (and I agree, some people really deserve it - others don't) and disrespectful. It just fits in today's society of extreme this or extreme that, there's very little middle ground left in our world and that's where he gains his popularity. JoB's strength is just that he has an easy way with words, the same strength many manipulators (like Bozo) posses too but that doesn't make him right all the time. It's not the first time he had to rethink his point of view, retract a statement or issue an apology either. At least he's fair enough to do so (when he realizes his mistake) but he's far from the best thing that ever happened to media, something many here seem to imply. JoB has the platform to make people see reason but the way he ridicules others, cuts people off and disrespectfully talks over them is more dividing than uniting people. As far as I'm concerned, he's part of the problem why the UK is so black and white.

My daughter died in 2021 as a result of contracting Covid from her care worker who was confused enough by Johnson's dithering to believe that it was just fine to continue to go clubbing every night in the middle of a worldwide lethal pandemic the walk into people's homes the next day without a care in the world that she might just be signing their death warrant by doing so. A few weeks later to add insult to injury the family still grieving found they had contracted covid from another source but the local authority then threatened to take the daughters father to court for not sending his daughter to school even though they were fully aware that she more than probably had contracted or at the very least been in contact with persons actually suffering from Covid and when asked why could only say that it was Government policy indicating that children did not contract Covid so should go to school. This is Johnson, no one else, standing there ignoring science telling the people a complete pack of lies in the pursuit of support from voters.

Contracted it from her care worker. It's not an std, it's an airborne virus. How can we point the finger at one person and say you gave it to them. 1 in 3 are asymptomatic and the fully vaccinated will still transmit this. Its a bit harsh to blame one person unless they are the only living soul to have any contact with in an airtight room. I'm sorry for your loss sir.

James, sincere condolences on the loss of your daughter. Jon and David. Take it easy on James, he’s lost his daughter.
