There were no conditions by Mummery in her original statement, it was just "we are taking back full control of our waters". No ifs or buts, it was going to happen. Now that it hasn't happened she has to blame someone else. Typical! Even then James was struggling to get through to her. All we got was verbiage from her which made no sense.

Honestly, the main issue with Brexit in my opinion is this: The EU has given the UK many exemptions and exceptions. They didn't join Schengen, they didn't join the Euro and a lot more. When Brexit came around the Brexiteers thought the EU was gullible and they could exploit every bit of it. Essentially keeping all the benefits whilst not having to abide by any of its rules and bearing no responsibility. Obviously, this does not work, but they have gaslight themselves so much into believe the EU was a weak institution, that they did not once consider what kind of leverage the EU actually had against them.

The problem is that people like this MEP have no idea about international trade. They think that as long as you have something you can sell it easily with a profit. But as we can all see it is not as easy as that. This is why they should have listened to people who understood the business of international trade like the lorry drivers at the very least. On top of that they are not even savvy enough to recognise that no country(market) is going to allow another country to damage their internal market just like that. There are custom regulations that you are going to need to adhere to and they will make it difficult and/or expensive enough to prevent damage to their internal market. Dear June, I only eat haddock or jellied eels, the stuff we tend to catch in British waters is never going to be on my plate no matter how many union jacks you wrap it up in. Being outside of the trading bloc of the EU is making selling what they will eat very difficult , no matter how much you catch. You who told fishermen how great Brexit would be were just lying, remainers had better understanding of the damage that would be done than virtually every British fishermen, exactly what did you expect after becoming a third country?

@@bert454 I'm not really sure the two things are connected. Brexit is all about making European citizens less welcome in the UK, something which to me at least is abhorrent. I would guess your views are different to mine, but each to their own.

The funny point is that the British fishermen allways could fish twice the amount that they did. But half of the Bristish quota was sold off to foreign fishermen by the british representative of the EU fisheries committee, Nigel Farage, with the full support of the MEP's from UKIP and the Brexit Party like June Mummery. If blame has to be aired on the radio by name then let's make sure the right people are called out.

Nigel Farage had no time attenting fishery committee meetings, for he was occupied by his daily LBC radio show.

Her argument seems to be 'if we would have taken back full control of our waters then trading rules wouldn't apply'? Am I getting that right? Is that what she said?
