Honestly, the main issue with Brexit in my opinion is this: The EU has given the UK many exemptions and exceptions. They didn't join Schengen, they didn't join the Euro and a lot more. When Brexit came around the Brexiteers thought the EU was gullible and they could exploit every bit of it. Essentially keeping all the benefits whilst not having to abide by any of its rules and bearing no responsibility. Obviously, this does not work, but they have gaslight themselves so much into believe the EU was a weak institution, that they did not once consider what kind of leverage the EU actually had against them.

The problem is that people like this MEP have no idea about international trade. They think that as long as you have something you can sell it easily with a profit. But as we can all see it is not as easy as that. This is why they should have listened to people who understood the business of international trade like the lorry drivers at the very least. On top of that they are not even savvy enough to recognise that no country(market) is going to allow another country to damage their internal market just like that. There are custom regulations that you are going to need to adhere to and they will make it difficult and/or expensive enough to prevent damage to their internal market. This is why you can't have your cake and eat it.
