My daughter's favorite Christmas present every year was (and still is) a book basket. I fill the basket with books she has asked for, and some I have found on my own. Then on Christmas morning, she would annoy the heck out of her father by reading the back of each book out loud to let us all know what each book was about! She is 31 and still does it. She LOVES to read!

The Maximum Ride series is probably my favorite series by James Patterson. Read every one except the last one. I think the reason why I like the series is because it's easy to read and really creates a picture in my head.

Just read my first Patterson book, "Jack and Jill" and I can see the appeal. Use of the vernacular, alternating quick and slower pace (but overall fast), clear characters that you get to root for or against, and short, cinematic chapters (to name a few). Looking forward to sampling more.

What an amazing mind. Great writer. James Patterson, you saved me. I was never a book person until I've read 'Cat and Mouse'. It changed the way I thought about reading forever. Then I read 'The Lake House'. Wow, you really know how to make book reading sensational!

*Jimmy Patterson.. I am just a small Tween when I am watching this, and I love James Patterson's book. I can't put them down. I've read three of his books this school year, I Even Funniest, I Funny (School of Laughs), and Laugh Out Loud. I just finished I Funny, and now I am so sad because I have to wait until Christmas to get a ton of your books. About 8. My friend is giving me a book she has read from James Patterson that she has found. And what did I say to my mom earlier? "Please give me another Book!"

I can't read his books. They are so boring. I've tried several and always have to put them down. Maybe one day I'll see the appeal (it has happened before with other authors). Can any James Patterson fans explain what it is they like about his work? Specifics would be great.

Hello. I recently started reading Along Came A Spider and what I enjoy about it is that every detail of the scenes mentioned is important to the story and that there are no unnecessary descriptions. In addition, the chapters are short and they always drive the story forward. The plot and the writing have one goal and that is to make you addicted reading and keep you getting back for more. How does he do that? Well, he worked as a copywriter in an advertising agency. James is not a wordsmith, but he's a very good storyteller.

That is true, most of his books have co-writers. Not to be rude, but is there any proof whether or not he has a ghost-writer, because if here isn't any proof. then almost any comment like yours and other peoples comments are considered invalid.

Several million people disagree. Besides your comment doesn't pass the logic test. This is not a situation where some other party is giving him credit where none is due, this is millions of readers buying his books. I don't see how that can possibly be "undeserved". You may not like his writing. I don't like E.L. James' writing, I think it's crap, but any success she's earned is deserved because lots and lots of people buy her books.
