As one would expect from Jesse, he talked calmly and dismissively about the subject and didn't get flustered or emotional. You would have been greatly disappointed. Is killing, the act of it a "Evil", the word "Evil"? It's not. It is what it is when it is as it is. Get passed the labels and see things as they are. Thought is thinking about happenings in reality, but when it thinks about it it prevents the truth of it and constructs a false narrative, or an untruth, just by the very nature of language. The thought is not the thing it thinks about. You cannot drink the word "Water". It's an idea, ideal, idol. Was the interpretation of that scripture from a Jewish perspective?
@jessicadavid6492
@jessicadavid6492 3 жыл бұрын
@@jazzyb819 It is from the first letter to the Corinthians. It is a Christian quote, though I believe the interpretation is that people often get too much into intellectual thinking without seeking first God who is the creator of it. We have no ability to think without God existing. We can learn about logic and the world, but it's only in a creaturely way. It is not necessarily real knowledge, only what we learn about this existence we which have access to. But knowledge and wisdom comes from God, whether one accepts that or not. Following God and following the world are completely different things. True wisdom is from above. This world is definitely foolish in many ways. It just means follow God with your heart and not the ways of this world. I am not Jewish, so I don't know what they think. I don't think they accept apostolic letters, though, so I guess they would completely reject the quote entirely.

The Ego is an AI. It is constructed by one experiencing reality as it is when it is, separating the whole into parts and naming them, recording them in the mind, which it uses to cross reference and run "if this then this" algorithms, your action in the present is labeling that which is, going through memory which is the past, and then it dictates your action in the present. .It is static. Mechanical. And perpetual. And thought of future events will be based on the past. As all this occurs in the realm of thought. All thought is the past. The nature of thought is linear, where its past then present and then future creating the concept of time. In reality there is no past, there is no future, there is a ever changing now, which is not static, which is not the labels the mind ascribes to them, which are not separate parts interacting but all existing as a whole. Any thought of the past exists now, any thought of the future exists now, and any thought and mechanical behavior is born out of past recorded experiences, which we call memory, which we call knowledge. So it is the inverse, the mechanicalness is the Ego, where on is filled with strings of thought which is not reality, spinning many narratives, and becoming emotionally identified with these narratives, causing desire, conflict, passion, emotional up's and downs such as pain and pleasure, but it is a false pleasure, and there is no peace in it. The casting away and dissolution of these strings of thought we take to be reality, these mechanical processes we take to be our "Selfs", is Ego, which is dellusion, and is utterly mechanical, the absence of these things is not mechanical. One lives in the present, with no pre-conceptions of what should or shouldnt be, one is natural in the moment, experiencing life as it is. This is the antithesis of Mechanical or "AI" as you put it. .

@@aggressivehandshakes8059 So you think you have an answer to life. Thats great. Your answer may not fit for everyone. If you dont question everything then thats fine too. If you are ok with going with the flow and just living life as it throws itself at you then thats fine too. Right and wrong are subjective and based on many different factors. A quick look at cultures across time will tell you that. I can understand why you would think right and wrong are objective but wouldnt that shatter even further than it already is, if an alien race showed up and started harvesting us because they are trying to survive? Life is much more nuanced than yes or no. So much of it is painted grey, if not all of it. Societies paint over parts with black and white to establish their ideas of morality but over time the color blends and fades back into grey for the next society to paint over it. What do you think is objectively right or wrong? This is an actual question. I want to understand why and how you think. Why do you go the path that you do? He could have not turned up to the interview - or just sent a mirror in his place and it would have been more interesting. He is 23 and coaching people how to become zombies like him. I bet his parents are Jewish - you could see him get uncomfortable when that came up. Best part of the whole thing was the preview for next weeks one.

@Without Form Agree with all that. I think there is also a bit of conflict in Christianity which Jesse exemplifies. @Without Form But you've rejected the idea that god is real. You never had the motivation to find out for yourself by reviewing the evidence. It is true that understanding cannot be downloaded into a person's brain against their will. Truth can be given to a person however. It's up to the person to evaluate it to decide if it is true or not. And this is where we think you fail. There is much evidence that could make any reasonable person believe that god is real, but most people simply don't want to find out. This is what we think is your problem. You don't want to know. You just want to reject god's existence because it's convenient for you. So... "god doesn't exist" is in your mind. It isn't reality and it isn't truth. The mere implication if god were real would mean something astounding that would personally affect you. So we can't understand why you wouldn't review the evidence if you are a rational person who wants to know the truth. How can you know the truth if you haven't evaluated the truth claims?

When a robbery is taking place and the police arrive, naturally the robber goes to the second floor to evade. The robber keeps going up and up, in search of escape, desperate to not get caught. This is how the ego works in man. Perfectly displayed in this man. You cannot fix your own problems, no more than you can kill your own ego. Nothing strengthens the ego more than someone who is trying to kill it. His lack of emotion and robotic nature only shows he does not possess the kingdom of heaven within.
