Triangle mate you turn off ball cam when dribbling or blowing up peeps makes it so much easier you can also double jump left right up forwards and back recomend glancing at the controls b4 bundling inwould have made a more entertaining vid do the training even

Definitely give it another go James, you'll enjoy it more when you get used to the mechanics and try out all the different modes (you can do custom games where you can change how the ball moves). Playing with friends also helps and makes it a laugh

Micro machines for the Playstation 1 was insane. I'll never forget flying off the pool table. Also the track on the breakfast table and the little puddles of milk that slowed you down. WHAT A GAME! I agree! They should make a remake :D

Love this game :) Good to see you trying it out at least mate. Few things though, you can double jump with X, you can also push yourself in a certain direction with the second jump. you can also control the positioning of the car mid-air with Square and / or with the analog stick. Second, a better view of the ball can be obtained by pressing Triangle, which locks onto the ball. Overall there is more complexity to maneuvering and it's better with friends who have a game plan, but that's totally cool if you don't feel like playing it. :)

Its the only game that iv really invested time in for years. It dosent seem to get boring as something different happens every game. Especially in those nervy overtime games. Few tips mate Press triangle for ball cam, double jump forward to gain speed with no boost, outside boost pads give 100 boost and the smaller ones give you 12, flipping into the ball can be the best way to hit it. Hope this helps

Spencer Fc had the same problem when he played it on his channel. It's almost unplayable if played without ball cam switched on, but for some reason they don't have ball cam switched on by default.

I love rocket league, actually got it for free when it was on ps plus ages ago but totally agree, I don't play it unless a group of friends are on, makes it so much more enjoyable. There is Defo 2 levels to the game though. First part is just pick up and play scramble for everyone to get the ball but the higher level games it is very much more tactical with people playing in goals, 1 or 2 going for the ball then another person waiting for the ball to be crossed to the middle, I think if you played with a group of more experienced players you would enjoy this game a lot more. Did enjoy the video though and good to see the reaction to your first experience of the game.

It's much better if you play with people you know. Everyone chases the ball like 5 years old kids in the playground when you join random games at lower levels - there are more tactics and positions when you play against better players and with people you can communicate with. Actually quite good fun to sit back and play defence. Oh - and did you work out you can fly yet using the boost? That makes a hell of a difference for getting the floaty high balls. Try the tutorials - they really help with some of the techniques... It's honestly such an addictive game - lost countless hours!!

Bought a copy today I got the collectors edition for £13.99 came with a code for 4 DLC cars and all 4 DLC already on disc. Very fun game just takes a lot to get into and used to but I only got to play 30 - 45 mins as I was busy.

When I played this game for the first time I was like 'what's all the fuss about?' but actually when you're playing with friends, there is an excitement to the game. You're either trying to play well as a team with friends with tactics or you're trying to beat your friends. I never really play this game on my own online, I only play with friends. Friends. No! This is the first video i have totally disagreed with you, you say its too basic and boring but you haven't discovered any of the key aspects of the game or even the simple mechanics (e.g. ball cam). I would love to explain all the things you have missed out on in this comment but it would be way too long. I have invested a lot of time into this game and I'm still improving every time I play it because like a lot of games, Rocket League is an easy game to play, but extremely difficult to master. It would be cool to hop into a private game with you sometime and show you some of this stuff but I know you don't have a lot of time free for this kind of stuff, but even watching a simple 5-10 minute tutorial on this game may change your perspective on it and make you realise why so many people love the game. Edit: I'm not hating on you btw, I love your content, but I was just putting my opinion forward.

Great video mate, this is one of those games that you need to play a little more to get a proper grasp on it. People play hours apon hours and are still improving (me included) the game also gets even more fun the better you get because you'll play other good players and you see some crazy goals. Also when you start getting a little better try using "Ball Cam" (Triangle Button) makes hitting aerial shots and tracking the ball much easier.

Personally I enjoy this game and its varying modes but its definitely something i cant play for too long, after about an hour or so I'm done with it, the game certainly needs some work but id like to see a part 2 where you try the Ice Hockey and basketball modes and do some more customising as well as see you play with friends/subscribers and try all the modifiers and such. great video anyways, keep it up.

Great work mate...honesty is the best policy, it is a great game but you have got to be honest, and to be fair if I had done what you did and played it on my own my thoughts would be very similar. It's definitely a party game with your mates, need to chat and organise yourself to play well together, and having the settings so the camera tracks the ball rather than straight ahead DEFINITELY helps. When you play it again in a party I think you'll enjoy it more but probably have the same opinion on the replay-ability. Keep up the good work👍

I remember downloading this game for free when it wasn't popular. I got bored of it very quickly and soon deleted it. Within a month it was one of the most popular games on psn...i have no idea how, it must have developed more and had things added to it since i had it!

RL on PC has a toggle option to focus the camera on the ball, I think PS4 will probably have the same, makes it a lot easier to play if you constantly toggle the camera view off and on the ball. Takes a while to get the hang of it but you only scraped the surface of jumping/aerial shots, should give it another go and you might enjoy it more.

I have to agree with some of the others on here. Its a cracking little game. Get on with mates and its a laugh. Learn the controls, lock on to the ball, learn to jump and score. Once you can start scoring and you work out the basics it is so fun!

give it another go! play through the tutorials, play a fee offline matches against the cpu to get used to the controls and how the car handles! playing online with randoms isn't often very fun, like you said everyone just chashes the ball and it's purely luck if your team does well. Give it a go online with some viewers/mates and it's much better :) communication helps alot. I play it with a mate and my brother and we can play it for hours on end without getting bored. I find it more fun to hang back defend the goal and just let those two loose upfront trying to score the goals. So try and find your play style too!
