I’m lucky enough to speak Spanish… he’s saying he loves the club and the fans, which is more or less the opposite of what he was saying on Twitch just before he left, where he said he was stuck at a bad club. He seems genuinely contrite here… and it’s strange to hear that he has a stutter.

I think Benitez took the hit on this one. He will have been told from the start that we couldn’t afford his wages and that James would have to be forced out. That’s the only one thing I admire Benitez for. Completely f****d everything else up!

His class play was lovely to watch, he would split defences with one pass, and when he shot at goal, 9 out of 10 times he would score, not like the rugby players we have at the moment who aim for the stands. Ball control was amazing. Wished he had stayed, some say he was lazy not running back to help, but he was a player who needed to be up front most of the time because of his skill.

Absolutely correct sir. Supporters support, and critics criticise. I have watched some absolute rubbish players, but i have only ever openly criticised one, and that is Holgate. I watched players such as Earl Barrett, Brett Angel, Andy van der Meyde, Royston Drente, and many other criminally poor players, but Holgate is the one that pushes my buttons.

Hard to say. He needs to be able to play regularly at club level. I think the calf problem he's had for years has been impossible to shift, so has to be managed. Hope he does well with Rayo, gifted player. Everton would probably have come back in for him this summer, but he's completely wrong for the current manager.

Realistically. Whilst I thought he was amazing the writing was on the wall soon as rafa took over and the money taps was turned off. 200k a week was tough for us as a club when he was injured. Which is why digne was probably sold also. Everyone knew rafa hated James and he treated digne like shit which probably secured his exit to villa. As much as I hated the Spanish waiter I wouldn't be surprised if the club used him as the fall guy for both. Wish we had got to see him more. Amazing talent.
