@@br2134 I actually knew what movie he was referencing. Me and my lil sis had a crappy recording of it on the early 90's. The basic idea wasn't that bad with the terminator thing but James Cameron (Director) didn't really know how to use it all. He could've probably been pretty big name if things went a little different and went on to do more stuff. I know he had ideas about doing something about Titanic for example. It was only released on Laser Disc as much as i know. It proves Bames deep knowledge about film that he would be aware this weird little sci-fi anomaly exists. Hopefully it got a little attention from this.

I am honestly curious if recording onto DVD would still be a good way to do things considering how much space gaming footage can take up over time. And you don’t have to worry about an HDD drive going back if you just have DVD’s burned as backups stashed somewhere.. Maybe it’s just physical media making a comeback lately tho or I’m old fashioned and behind the times. And not rich like James who can afford a 1,000TB NAS drive. The only things I really cared about in his interviews were how he edited what software what his recording setup is like all that technical stuff, I could care less about his writing style cuz everyone is different. But James really likes to talk about how he writes. I was curious about his time doing voice acting and what he learned from his years doing production stuff for that.. but he mentioned it once and how he learned so much from it.. and then never brought it up again. So I didn’t learn anything from him lol

he has reason to believe this since people got so upset finding out that things he said might have been scripted by other people and say that his videos dont have genuine reactions anymore. theres clearly a portion of the audience, basementdwellers, that cant distinguish fantasy from reality. even Nostalgia Critic had to explain this to his viewers.

He also feels the need to explain in the 2011 video that his videos are scripted, I think he did have a lot of really young fans back then who tried to make videos like he did, but didn't seem to get that he was using a script and editing software, which might explain why he made that video. I don't know why he said it here though, if I was being charitable I'd say that he is trying to illustrate how using a script can make you funnier?

His set up is unnecesarily complicated. Why would you use a PC to capture gameplay to then edit everything in a Mac? I capture gameplay with a crappy USB capture card or I just record an emulator window. Nes, Genesis Snes, Turbografx, etc emulators are very good in a Mac already if you are so set in using a Mac. You can capture from a console and everdrive but what's the point of capturing from console when you already got rid of your CRT TVs? The input lag is a lot worse on a new TV than in an emulator. One note about James sharing things that seemingly everyone should already know... (like "a video focusing on one game is different than a video focusing on many games.")… He's a dad to young kids. Of course he's going to explain everything, even simple things. Plus, say what you want about him, but he comes off as VERY nice guy. I think that part of the reason so many people make fun of him now. Yes, they're disappointed by his content, but they feel they have the liberty to make fun of him because he's a very nice guy. In fact, he is "a nerd", and most of his former audience bullies him. It's kind of wild. Meanwhile, he's super nice and he talks like he's trying to gently instruct us, making sure not to talk over our heads. He's a dad. He's a nice guy. Give him a break. PS: I'm not saying don't critique his work. I'm saying making fun of his style of communicating as JAMES himself, NOT THE CHARACTER, but making fun of James himself for how he speaks or how he is - YOU KNOW, THINGS HE CAN'T REALLY CHANGE, THEY'RE INHERENTLY A PART OF HIM - is just very sad. Jesus is Lord.
