I was thinkin' that too, but seeing how it's the Kennedy Center, odds are, they've used it before. The first thing that came to mind was West Side Story. None-the-less...a fantastic presentation. Love it, love it, love it.

As a 16 yr old kid, I used to strap on my Walkman and ride my bike around the neighborhood. Just listening to this song really helped me through my lonely and pressured teen years. Thankful for the music.
Words by Carole. Voice and guitar by James. What a match. Fun facts: James played guitar on Carole's original cover. [Yes, she covered her own song! ... after the Drifters made it famous ~1962.] And they duetted it in 1971 at Carnegie Hall. Ultimately, James put it on his own 1979 album "Flag."]

What a perfect night. The President and his beautiful, smart, talented wife listening to a legend singing a song written by another legend. Maybe the last time before the fall of America which began January 6th, 2021 and continues today.
